Hi i'm new here my name is (strange but O' well) Itay
and I'm looking forward for the full version of test drive unlimited
But I have some questions:
1. When will the game for the PC or PS2 be out?
2. I have PC and PS2 and I don't know to which of the two to buy it which is best?
(My PC is not so good 512 MB ram GeForce fx5200 and a AMD 2600+ processor but my PS2 doesn't have an online connection but that could be fixed)
3:And the mos important questions When the game will be fully out will it cost monthly fee?
And will I be able to play on a single player mode or do I must go online?
4: Will I be able to update the game on both the PC and the PS2?
(And by that I mean adding new cars and so on...)
Thnaks in advane and please answer quickly.
And Nice to meet you all

Hi Axecident, welcome to the forum :salut2:

Let's see...
1) It's going to be...soon enough not tomorrow, we're likely to have a date soon. Can't say any more than this, sorry, I know that it doesn't help but I'll make up with the other answers.
2) Giving the platform performance, you'd get the best from the PC version but the PC requirements are a bit demanding, see here (http://forums.eu.atari.com/showthread.php?t=48560)
3) No fee on neither PS2 or PC ;) You won't have to go online, but you will if you want to complete the game. That doesn't mean that you can't have hours and hours of fun, but you'd miss on one of the good features.
4) I need to check that again, I don't have final details.

Alright thanks you helped a lot
Now I know that I must have this game.
Well with all of those requirments I think I'll have to buy it for the PS2 My PC
won't be able to heandle this game...
For the game to workon my PC I need to buy a lot of upgrades so I think it'll be cheaper to just buy a new one
But the 4th question is the decisive one that'll tell me exsacly what I should do: buy it for the PS2 or buy it for the PC so I still need an answer about that but agin thanks a lot

I heard that neither PS2 or PC versions will get DLC.

welcome to the forum mate,

PC will be a much safer bet than ps2, simply because the ps2 online isnt anywhere near as good as either 360 or PC. so any updates that are released will be easier to get and also probably much more frequent for the PC.

your PC is below the recommended specs but they have pushed the release date back to the (2nd March) according to an email i got from Game.co.uk earlier this week. (i pre-ordered it for PC)

that means eden have about a month to tweak the game and fix all the bugs/performance issues that people have reported on the beta forums. So the final product will be much "better" than the current beta everyone is playing on the PC.

hope that helps you a little.

TED.

Ok thansk to all of you
So I think I'll go for the pc after all
But I'm not sure what to do should I do should upgrade it or buy a new one?
the upgrades I want to do are these:
512MB ram to 1024
GeForce Fx5200 to GeForce 7600GT (or better)
Add an extra 160GB or more hard drive
Siwich my normal CD burner to a DVD/CD burner
And most important: to buy a steering wheel so that I'll have a better game experience.
So should I go for these upgrades or just buy a new PC what will be cheaper?

I wish I could but it's too expensive
Do to tax to me it'll cost 800$
It will drop but that'll take a year at least

i always forget the prices in the uk are so different. a 360 here is under £300 with the hard drive and the pc upgrades you mentioned would certainly add up to more than that, if you go with decent manufacturer components.

300 really??
Now that I can afford
Damn sometimes I wish I was born in europ
So unfair...
I'll have to wait.

voodoov2

dunno what that is in dollars though, $500 maybe?

mind you still better than $800, where are you from?!

AdamEnzo

no no no you dont have to wait! go on ebay!

Axecident

I'm not so sure
I live in the middle east and in here
I think I will have to pay taxes any way and taxes here are over 32% for tv consoles
besides most of the things sold on ebay are used and I want a new one.

AdamEnzo
01-02-2007, 19:28
true but you can find brand new ones! trust

Axecident

the problem is that I can't be 100% sure that it's really new
besides even I order one from ebay I'd still have to pay taxes and it's still
is going to be expensive
And it doesn't end there games in here are not so cheap
So ok I bought a 360 then what?
each game for the 360 agin because of taxes instead of the 50-60$
it'll cost me (I just checked it) 90-120$
SO I think that for the long range I'll take the pc
and when the prises will drop then I'll buy the 360
SO what should I do go for the upgrades or buy a new one?

Hey :salut2:

Why don't you do a cheap system upgrade around the Pentium D? you can pick them up for bargain prices these days.

okay, best advice i can offer for upgrading vs new pc is this;

work out exactly which pc parts you will need to upgrade and then price everything up off the web for the best prices you can find from half-decent suppliers. then, see what that money will buy you for a full system. by then you'll know which makes economic sense so it will just be a matter of choosing the option that suits you best.

if you need advice on which upgrades to make, you need to know what you want the machine to do, ie do you want to play the latest games? of course you do so that dictates a certain type of graphics card etc. you'll need to find the recommended specs for the pc version of TDU of course so use that as a guide. i dunno where these specs are but they shouldn't be hard to find from here of course. anybody got a link?
