i had an update at 2am GMT on 2nd feb, anyone else get this? no i havent got hardcore mode before anyone asks. I would also like to know what this update/patch has fixed?

Was it a proper update that stops you playing online unless you update? or did you just get a message in-game saying there was an update? :hin:

I came off R6, put in the TDU disk, shut the drawer, it loaded, it then said would you like to update i said yes. It downloaded, restarted the game and thats it. It wasnt for the dashborad, and it wasnt for anything else. Also sent msg's to friends to get on TDU but they didnt get the update, asked every single person i came across if they had an update and they all said the same thing "no". So im guessing you didnt get one either, I cant be that special, can I? There must be someone out there that knows if my update is a real update or a very delayed one.

I got the thing saying new content available restart game etc - but I can't see anything differen't either. :mefiant:

Unless it was something to do with new content on marketplace? but never saw anything like that before so doubtful.

this is a strange one. Maybe later today people will get it, i cant be the only one to have it. I checked the market place before i booted up me pc and there was still 12 items there, which where there before midnight. Thanks for havein a look and then saying something about it, i dont think many people would do that.

I played for a good 4hrs with 5 friends and i never noticed anything new, but saying that i never noticed half of the bugs untill someone told me about them.

I had the same thing happening to me yesterday.

Fired up my disc of TDU.....loaded up the game...and as soon after i selected continue in the menu it normally shows a preview of the house you own...and then you enter it.
But now while this preview was showed of the house it also showed a message stating that i have to restart the game because there was downloadable content available.

It didn't download anything though....it just restarted the game (normally you will see a progression bar which was not shown) and after it the message didn't show up again.

Strange...??? :hin:

This happens when your cache is cleared. That happens if you either turn on your console while holding the A button or unplugging your 360 from the wall for more then a minute or so.

i frequently have my 360 unplugged from the wall but that doesnt happen to me but was you downloading anything from the marketplace when this hapened as when on TDU and something finishes downloading it says new content is available so it could be that

I am so confused now something is happening but i dont know what. It would be nice if ten said something but it looks like she is ignoreing it or she thinks im telling pokies, which im not because if it didnt happen i wouldnt of said anything.

Edit: forgot this bit, I have never cleared my cache, i have never needed to.

its probably because there is no new official information regarding the update or DLC and shes probably getting fed up of most people saying tenebras this and that

Yeah you are probley right there. Im not dissing ten in anyway, she is doing a very good job at giving us the info she gets. What im saying is it would be nice for her to say something. I just find it f***** up that im the only one with an update.

The mods on this forum do a really good job - However they have either little or no information passed to them from Atari/Eden with regards to the upcoming/ supposed updates from atari( I think they are used big time - and abused unfairly into the bargain -why do that job?). This has been the same since the release of the game. I therefore don't understand why people are having a go at the mods re DLC/Patches it's pointless. It's quite clear that they have no information to impart, if they had info surely they would let us no ( here we go - the old microsoft information embargo argument that really does get tiresome !!!) we will get the releases when we get them(P :mad: :mad: :mad: ersonally I think the last of the DLC occurred just before Chrimbo) - same old story really. Nothing new there then. The old Atari promise then fail to deliver - Monthly car packs??? I new from day one that that was puerly a pipedream!!

First mate, i wasnt asking for any info on the DLC, I know that will come along when it does, same as the update. Its the fact i got an update and would like to know if its real. Im like yourself i think the mods are doing a good job and I cant understand why people have to keep going on about the same things over and over. Also im not haveing a go at anyone, I might of worded things wrong and made it sound like i was, if i did im sorry. But I still had an update and no one else has. Why was that? only atari/eden/mircosoft would know the answer, hence I think i asked a reasonable question. But if ten or any of the mods had the info on this i think they would of said something by now, and if anyone else had the update i got they would of said something to. But as far as i know im still the only one. Very strange, and I cant cant explain it, thats why i asked for the info, which it looks like they havent got yet or ever will.

Lol I get an update for TDU everytime I load it up after playing Gears of War. The funny thing is, everytime I then load up GoW I get anothe update!

It isn't the update for the ForceFeedback on the new M/S wheel is it? Just that unless you had a wheel you wouldn't notice anything after you restarted the game...only thing is I have a wheel & have been waiting for this update for what seems like ages but haven't seen nothing yet...any news mods?
the update is the FF support, but it also includes the hardcore mode with it. ey what ever happened to them fixing the photo extract rolleyesa

I couldnt say if it was for FFB as i dont have a FFB wheel yet. I hope ten has posted some news as she said she was going to today (I hope shes got some news for us). If not its not the end of the world or anything because good things come to those who wait.

I dont know about anyone else but i had another update on 6feb at 3am and still no hardcore mode. Has anyone else had an update? Tenebra we could really do with that info you said you would have, which you havent got yet. Can you try and get some please.

i've just gone into tdu for the first time since this morning and have had THREE "update - restart your game to take effect" type updates in a row in the space of a few minutes!!

again, no noticeable differences...

before anybody says it, i don't do rumour-mongering - this is fact though of course i can't prove it, didn't think i'd need evidence but logged on here to see if there's any explanation after the third one. if another one comes up i will take a picture.

what's it all about???

thanks nipper, funnily enough in the time it took to read two other threads it's just come up again!! i have two pics of it this time!

next question then - how do i clear the cache and is there any risk that doing so can corrupt anything or cause problems elsewhere?

just scared of screwing up my tdu profile, i've a lot of effort invested in it!!!

Don't do it, it will clear all updates for all your games (your saved games will be safe). You'll get plenty of Update messages if you do this, as it will need to re-download all again. Anyway, the choice is yours and here's how to do it... It's up to you, to make an informed decision now :)

wow, thanks for the info hengist (and that link), think i might just hold off doing that!! the game's been running smoothly now for more than a half hour i think and no more updates have come through so hope it stays that way and i don't have to do anything.

that's a useful looking resource too, i'll bookmark that website! :)

[oh and cheers for your original suggestion though nipper, any help is appreciated though in this case i think i'll hold fire :p ]

ok guys..not joking here..i just got ANOTHER FREAKIN UPDATE!
it seems like i got a update everytime i on my TDU..weird..i have 4 updates in a week..n it happens everyday! wtf is going on?? my game still isnt working!! somebody help me..Tenebra..this aint doing any good..i have been creating thread asking on how to fix my game..posted it on other member's thread..calling out for u..tried to pm u..but its always full..can u pls! freaking read my post..not trying to be rude here..i m very kind to all..but this has been happening for 2months since last demcember..this is a freakin waste of my time..my xboxlive Gold has just ended today..n i have not been online for 2 months..what u mean? i payed for 3 months n played only for 1 month,n let the rest of the 2 months burn away? its not papers..its money!
