Exactly as it reads - what kind of things do you think would enhance the MOOR experience?

I think there is a massive potential with the online play - but they should develop the commercial side of things as there is obviously a degree of interest in the trading aspect.

It would be good to develop this further say having import/export ability, taxis, transport missions for other players (as an employee/sub contractor); being able to buy a paint shop/tyre fitter; being able to buy your own dealership and sell customised/modded/rare cars.

Live passenger riders would be good for co-drivers on rally stages, gumballs or just cruising through town.

Anyway what do you guys think? :p

And while im on the subject I would love to see different versions of this game in cities around the world - especially Las Vegas with a day/night time cycle. (maybe that could tie into the taxi theme - airport/tourist trips during the day - gamblers and clubbers at night.

hehe and casinos as a way to win cars and $$$

ok im gonna go lie down now eekblue:

One massive server with everyone who is on at that time on the same server. 8 People isn't enough and people can't see you cruiseing. I know this would be close to impossible at the mo but in a few years.

not impossible as runescape can have 2000 players on a single server

Its very easily possible in development terms but for the player base to be responsible is another thing :P 7 people decide to block up busy roads or just crash into a selected target. Its bad enough one person doing this never mind 6 or more. It would be very nice to see but with all the collisions and changes syncing of 1000's of players doing 200mph+ would be a challenge. Maybe just turn this into 32-64 players per group? :)

Not saying its possible now, well not without loads of money which I don't think Atrai has right now. As eletorinics are getting cheaper and the big companys are getting richer, it will only be a matter of time before they put a server big enough to do this.

They could try and buy that IBM supercomputer that has 131,000 servers and goes very very fast.

just think 1000 people haveing at least 500 seperate conversations simultaneously,... wtf i thought i was done with highschool lunches

not to mention you would need about a hundred tera-bit connection just to connect with everyone.

that number of a thousand is puny next to the correct me if im wrong but almost 300,000 players world wide speeking how many different languages?

oh my (insert belief of supreme being) thats freakin nutz!!
anyways one hell of a :chapeau: :chapeau: :chapeau: :chapeau: :chapeau: :chapeau:

Having everyone on one server would be impossible.
There are so many people playing this game, you would need collisions permanently off otherwise you would not be able to move on Oahu. There are not enough roads or space to fit everyone on.

There would be cars every 2ft and bikes driving around on top of them.
Id pay to see that lol...

Nipper... think of the noise of everyone talking, although they could limit that to people within a mile radius. Still, that could be up to 300 people!

My ears hurt just thinking about it...

Everyone on one server is never going to happen.

Someone said something about runescape...that is a simple game. Many people play it, but it not very graphically powerful so the servers can take it. It lags a lot as well...

I think they should add some kinda of drag strips aroudn the island, maybe two or three locations, with a HUGE parking lot for meets to take place, and drag strips where you roll up, and the lights work like the traffic lights, and you go. That would be cool. Also, I have a feeling they're going to add night time effects, or at least better sunset/sunrise effects. I think they should add more single player races also. More dense traffic in the cities too.

i agree with having more people on servers but not all on one lol. i would love for the game to allow say 30 people instaed of 8, but keep the mile radius limit the same...perfect for me.

nah, I think they should really fix the diner deal. 100 on a server would be great, and being abel to go to a diner, and meet up with characters. 100 on the map at once, is ok, as long as not eveyr talks at the same time, like, the 5 nearest people talk.

100 would be WAY to chaotic IMO. You wouldn't be able to move in Waikiki at all. I would stick with 16 or mabye a little more.

-Better hit detection... cars are often in completly different positions on other peoples screen. causing accidents none intended to have happen. Renders collisions on as much harder, and annoying.

-More seat adjustability... the farthest back seat setting does not show your entire windscreen, and the drivers head movement is disorienting, with widescreen HD you should be able to sit in a position where the entire winshield, and more of the cockpit showing. This problem makes it nearly impossible to use interior view when driving seriously.

-Wide-angle rearvew mirror option in all views. it is impossible to see cars in multiplayer that are behind your front wheels in multiplayer.. this makes it difficult to race cleanly, and results in frustrations.

-Smoother road surfaces. the roads in the tight mountain roads are too slab-like. this makes the car behave wierd in high-speed corners which have a lot of contour... modeled flaws are great, odd junctions in the road surface usually make your car go airborn, and subtracts from the realism. flawless smooth roads are just as bad, thats why i do not like PGR3.

-more detailed mointain roads. the current in-game roads are great, but some of those roads get really narrow, and a lot less forgiving.

-WAY less speed challenges. WAY More mutiplayer races. more tight roads, more races in the 7 mile range. Pitfall and Kelekole pass are good races.

-Day/Night cycle... realistic headlight throw, not an overall illumination. realtime headlight shadows would be awesome. Realistic darkness settings, not just dull blue light.

-Realistic tire wear

-Ability to ride as a pasenger via xbox live in a friends car. And to view friend's garages.

-Car wash / dirty car

-Drive In where more than 8 players can park and display their cars.

-Ability to use user created challenges in multiplayer.

-Save replay in multiplayer races.

If you wanted more than 8 players in a session your internet connections would have to support it. The servers don't host the free-ride sessions - you do. Most Xbox Live games are Peer-to-Peer hosted in this manner.

Live game designers have to ensure that the nominal bandwidth required for each player session is supported by a typical adsl/cable connection.

customization is what TDU really lacks. being a massivly online game, u need to be able to make ur car unique, inside and out. and by inside i mean both under the hood and interior, more interior option would be really great seeing as they put so much work and great visuals to them. damage and nighttime/weather would make this the perfect game along with customization, and im hoping to see all of that on TDU2 :atari:

i'd love to be able to drive a marked cop car with lights & siren - you could have a lot of fun that way if the police are real people.

penalties for being caught would have to be carefully thought out and you'd have to find a way of ensuring you can only pull someone over under certain circumstances of course, ie speeding or running someone off the road within view of the police.

maybe you could just cruise around without being able to use lights & siren until the game detects a law being broken within your viewpoint then it would give you the option to give chase? if you catch and stop the offender then you could get something like "police efficiency" points that would reward you somehow for your hard work.

anyway, just an idea, i just think being able to use a cop car would be fun though i don't want to spoil the freedom the game represents either! :p

im not talking about slapping DUB all over these cars :o when i say customization i mean actual tuner body kits, the ability to add spoilers for downforce, options to replace ur seats with race seats, shifters and steering wheels. this game is a MMO, it shouldnt be full of all the same cars in all the same colors with all the same parts, how lame is that lolblue: the whole point of this game is living the life u cant, getting cars u cant in real life so why cant u make them the way u would in real life. its bad enough seeing saleens everywhere but teh same looking one in the same colors would be a little annoying dont u think? and please, just because NFS does customization doesnt mean that everytime customization is brought up, it refers to NFS. think more of forza

What annoyed me most with TDU was that you couldn't get all vehicles by simply buying the game. I don't have Xbox Live and I won't get it since the games are expensive enough without the extra cash for Live and downloads.

So for TDU2 I would very much like to see that you get all vehicles in the game without having to download anything. I don't mind if the online racing possibility will still be there, I won't use it but I know that a lot of other people like it. Just let me get all vehicles without having to download them.

i get your point but the reason for downloadable cars is to keep the game fresh and interesting with these extra add-ons, it's meant to extend the longevity of the game which is a good thing otherwise interest in the game would drop off far sooner without such things. the cars in these packs were not pre-developed before the release date then just held back - they've been developed after product launch and as such cost atari time & money to provide, hence the requirement to purchase them via the points system used in live.

as they are add-ons it makes sense to make them available through live as most regular 360 gamers are on it plus this game was always intended to be played via live to get the full experience. i think almost everybody here would agree that without the live aspect they'd not have played this game half as much as they have.

it would be nice though if the downloadable packs were made available via an add-on pack sold through shops for people such as yourself... would also avoid the anti-piracy measures that catch some people out with replacement xbox's.

working convertible tops would be cool - let's get a convertible s7tt then see what happens when you open the roof at 270mph... flying cars!!

ps, i know it's not ideal but if you're listening to the in-car radio and you want to skip to the next track, just cycle once through all the stations and it will play the next track. works if you use custom playlists too.

Alot of good ideas here.
I'd like:
Day/nighttime (according to real time in hawaii)
Weather, incl. snow.
Handling ala Forza
Riding in a friends car.
More customization, not necessarily like NFS, thats abit gay. But something like Forza has. Then you could set up your car for drifting/drag/race/cruise/offroad/whatever.
100 people on a server is too much. 16 sounds good. But then you need to be able to only listen to the voices of your friends. Since XBL doesn't support multiplayer private chat it needs to be implemented in the game.
And better roads. So mountain roads aren't so bumpy. They don't need to model every inch of the road, I'm sure the xbox could automatically "soften" the road if programmed right.

Ok, I'm watching tv and drinking beer so I'm done for now. But I believe TDU2 will be a GREAT game. Not that TDU isn't already great...
And more games need to catch on to this MOOR thing. How about this: GRAND THEFT AUTO IV WITH ONLINE FREEROAM!!

ok yeah i agree with all these points but-

1. - exit anytime the car and have a free walk = people will complain that the game is too GTA like...
2. - rent a little airplane or helycopter = i would LOVE this but people would say "ohhh.. i dont want that, it would make the game too much like a flight simulator" but i absolutely love that point :)
3. - rent or buy boats and motoryacht = again people would say the game is too GTA like

well, i love those points :) but i think u will get loads of complaints and i guarantee that the number 1 complaint will be - "This game is too GTA like" or somewhat close...

i'd love to be able to drive a marked cop car with lights & siren - you could have a lot of fun that way if the police are real people.

penalties for being caught would have to be carefully thought out and you'd have to find a way of ensuring you can only pull someone over under certain circumstances of course, ie speeding or running someone off the road within view of the police.

maybe you could just cruise around without being able to use lights & siren until the game detects a law being broken within your viewpoint then it would give you the option to give chase? if you catch and stop the offender then you could get something like "police efficiency" points that would reward you somehow for your hard work.

anyway, just an idea, i just think being able to use a cop car would be fun though i don't want to spoil the freedom the game represents either! :p

Good idea.Maybe your sirens could automatically turn on when someone close by commits an offence and highlights the person on your GPS meaning you have to make chase and pull them over.

Replay Option - I think you should be able to instant replay your last 20-30 seconds of the game.We all pull off nice drifts or some nice driving from time to time and i for 1 would love to replay some of those moments and watch them from different angles.

One thing I would like are waypoints on the GPS. When doing a cruise or any kind of journey with multiple stops, you have to go to the GPS and set the next point at each stop. It would be great to just set it all up using waypoints at the start, so with a multiplayer cruise, you don't have to lose and then reacquire player locks at each stop.
