I don't know if anyone has the answer to this, but me and my brother both bought this game and a 360 in the thought that we could play together. I log on and we go the same spot  he's not there! I know there are different servers now because I asked around in game. I don't even really want this game if we can't just mess around together.. (I know we can race but thats not what we wanted to do). So, I'm asking if there is anyway to play together? Without racing.
Thanks.

First i'm quite sure you both need live if you do, go into the map, go across to friends tab and then 'x' for filter go down and change it to freinds only, find your brother's gamertag and click on it and if the server isn't full it will take you to him.

Re the previous problem, i have the same problem not being able to join friends online, there are 3 of us that would like to be able to meet up and drive around the island together but even 2 of us meeting up seems very hit-and-miss, is there a way of "locking on" to another player from the map?

the chances of Driving to the same spot as your freind and being in the Same Server is 1000-1 best of Jumping to your freinds then going into your quick menu is (where you turn driving aids on/off) go to the player list in that and press right when their name is selected and then right again to send a Lock.

best off Jumping to your friends...Hi Marc_CRX thanks for the quick reply. this is the part i have the problem with, it very occasionally matches you up straight away, but most of the time 1 (or other) of us ends up in another server. it normally takes between 3 and 6 tries to actually be able to see each other in the correct server, then this happens again when the other friend is trying to join, i've tried highlighting friends from the filters screen, then selecting and setting the friend as my gps target (this may have no odds but i just assumed that it may help ) then clicking on the location itself. this all just makes it a very daunting task wanting all to jump quickly to another part of the map.
...then going into your quick menu is (where you turn driving aids on/off) go to the player list in that and press right when their name is selected and then right again to send a Lock.i do this as soon as i have discovered the correct server thanks for the tip though

Maybe a NAT issue? i know TDU is very fussy with the ports it uses. On the xbox dashboard go and check your xbox live connection and make sure NAT = "Open"

hi Maxi_Live,i remember testing my connection recently and i'm sure it showed the nat status as open (or something like that that meant the same) i'll test it again, are there certain ports that should be opened on my router, (i'll search elsewhere too but any ideas would be greatly appreciated) thanks

If your NAT is already open then you shouldn't need to forward any ports. Most routers produced recently support UPnP which is a protocol that allows devices to open their own ports on demand, I suspect yours does if your NAT is open.
Should you require manual forwarding the following ports are used for the Xbox live service:
88 UDP
3074 TCP/UDP

Thanks crappucino, much appreciated, my router does support UPNP, i shall check all these thing when i can... it may just be a case of living with the fact it takes a couple of tries to actually meet up, thanks Marc_CRX, Maxi_Live and crappucino for all your help
