Yeah man, I had the red light of death. It should take around 5 days from start to finish even though Microsoft will tell you it's 15 days.
They don't repair them you just get another XBox 360, more than likely a refurb.

Has your warranty run out by a few days, just like the hundreds of people who have complained on Watchdog? If so, get in touch with Watchdog!

My xbox has had the red lights of death a few times, although I did turn it off at the plug whilst playing a game...
I have gone through 5 PS2s.
1st one: overheated (brother played too much).
2nd one: wires fried (again brothers fault).
3rd one: brother snapped disk tray with large box of games.
4th one: just died for no reason (brothers fault).
5th one: currently ok, slimline.
I am also on my second 360. Again this was my brothers fault. MY COD2 was being played with his friend and he wanted to show aforementioned friend that the lights on the front moved when you turned the 360 on its side. Disk got chewed up. 360 then decided to chew up every game put into it. Went back to GAME got a replacement 360, BONUS EDITION COD2 and a new OBLIVION.
I hate my brother...

when your warranty is about to run out you can pay a fee and extend it by 12 months.. trust me.. its worth every penny for piece of mind

Thanks Dion,
See the link below and check your secondary error code. There's a slim chance that you may be able to sort the problem out yourself.

Ideally though, and if your warranty has just run out I would be pursuing Microsoft to fix it for nothing.

hmm ive got to look in to this, thanks stevo :)
ive heard that if you wrap a towel around your bricked xbox it can come to life again, and it has worked for quite alot of people

Ive just added the intercooler to the back of my 360.
Played for around 5-6 hours last night and when i put my hand on the
top it was like i only just turned it on.
Well worth the £15 cost

i heard they can cause damage to the console and you wont gety a free repair from m$

If anything it runs better and if it was to break ms cant prove you had one on there in the first place.

The problem with the replacement consoles is that you're just getting someone else's junk that's supposed to have been repaired.
360 was on Watchdog the other night BTW

thats why you are better off going back to the place you bought it and getting a brand new one... MS just send you refurbs

Yep indeed that is the best course of action.
The problem with repairing anything like this is that you may only be fixing a problem that's caused by something else. It wouldn't surprise me if consoles with intermittent faults are just being sent straight back out to keep Teleplan's repair turnaround times down.
I'm now on my second console which is also faulty. If I were not a resonable man then Teleplan would be getting it back, personally delivered attached to the back of a paving slab.
