View Full Version : What's up with the Mac F1's in-car view?

I went to have a drive in my Mclaren F1 today, selected interior view as always and found that the camera position was such that my chin was on the steering wheel, far too far forward. Tried changed seating position but this does not help and none of my other cars are affected. It was fine yesturday, tried restarting console etc. What do you suggest?

try changing the camera modes interior to outside, got similar problem with my mclaren F1 GTR too, but its the opposite stuff, my chin was just touching the roof and the interior was visible but no seating positions could reach there, changed the cameras and worked fine...:D
try again tomorrow i guess
i had the same problem after the chrimbo DLC pack :mad:

It's happened to me once, I suggeset you cycle through the camera views until you get back to the interior, it should then return to normal :)

Nope I'v tried going through all the cameras and its still the same, even when i go to buy a new a F1 it has the same problem during the test drive etc

Does it glitch all the McLarens or just the F1?
i have the same proplem, just brought the F1 and my std incar view is far too close you cant see the dials. adjusting the seating fixed it in the F1 but now when i go to another car its like i have the logest arms in the world! dont want to have to change it everytime i drive the F1.
not sure if it has only accured since the DLC adition as i didnt have the F1 before it.

Same here, this is what the in-car view now looks like to me in just the standard F1, the GT and GTR don't appear to be affected.

Yep it's the same when viewing the car in your garage. Maybe we should get a thread with vehicle irregularities so that the devs/artists only need to look one place to see everything rather than hunting through tons of threads!
Examples:
F430: When incar and looking behind, there's a triangle cutout of the rear window on the right hand side (when looking behind you.)
Mercedes SLR McLaren: Speedo shows 360km/h (224mph) when doing 200mph.
What do you think ?

the incar view is one of the best features. better than PGR3 in my opinion which looses the sense of speed when you are in car.
i dont mine the view being that close it's just not very practical for changing gears..... i guess CDXIII is going to tell me to drive an auto now?
if i drove an F1 in real life it wouldnt be an auto as they dont make them and i would be sitting on the bonnet or hovering behind it.
please fix this new bug!! thanks
Actually, I was joking. I like the in-car view too.

Maybe that view in your F1 was the hood view and not the incar-view?
Press start and go to seat position and you can change height and how close you are.

I think the seating position i use now in the McLaren F1 is like this. *NOTE* This is before the DLC.
First bar is set at 1/4 or 1/3way - [ | [|] | | | | | ]
Second bar is at 1/2way -------- [ | | | [|] | | | ]
[] is the bar
i had mine all the way to the left on both sliders, low and close.
edit: i mean top one all the way to the right and bottom one all the way to the left!
which works well with most of the cars execpt the Ford GT which i found my self trying to peer over the dash all the time..... but i only drive that when i have too!!! Poor mans Ferrari! :)

Hi again, I'v tried everything and found that it is a problem with the interior view everytime I sit in a Mclaren F1, i.e. in mine on the street and in my garage, in the car dealership, on a testdrive and if I buy a new one. Also it is just the F1 that is affected - GT GTR and LM are all fine.
one way for the dev's to fix it would be add the seating postion option to the D pad so we can change it on the fly for each car we jump into. one of the problems is if you go to a race and change the vehicle in the race menu, once you start the race the options are not there only restart, quit and resume. so if you jump from a car that is fine into a car where the camera isnt quite right or completly wrong like the F1 then you are stuck with it till the end of the race. if it was on the D pad we could change it when ever we needed. :atari:

i want this glitch, it would be well good with the wireless wheel.
It got me too, now. My advice is - Don't drive the F1, use the F1 GT instead, since they're so similar performance-wise.

I have the same problem. Seat position in the Mclaren F1 is wrong (F1 GT and F1 GTR are ok). It seems this arose with the last DLC which includes the Mclaren F1 GT.
Tenebra, is this going to be fixed ? Please report it to the devs.

Sorry if this has been posted but I don't have time to search as I am using the computers at the local library... Yawn.
Another thing, are all the car glitches gonna be fixed with the update? Like the Edonis lights not working, the F1 Gt's engine missing lolblue: and I've also noticed a few cars dials working the wrong way around ala the XK Coupe.
I'll hopefully be at my Mum's friend's for a week again at the end of the month so hopefully the DLC and Update #3 will be released then. You guys think they'll be released together?

ive never noticiced the edonis lights not working. and the dials on certain vehicles, not sure about jags but like on the tvr sagaris, do spin in reverse on purpose.

I had the same problem with the McLaren. I just ajusted the seat position, but that changed it in the other cars as well...guess an update made that happen madred:

i been reading for bout 10 mins now and seen my name pop up at least 7-8 times LOL
i have no idea how to fix it, all i kno is that it happened after the Chrimbo DLC pack :)

That's actually how it is in the standard mclaren f1. The windsheild is really big, and your up close to it. Search for interior pictures of the car and see for yourself.
you can always just sell it and buy a GT or GTR instead. I think they look nicer anyway.

well its not THAT close in real life... if you look down you cant even see the drivers elbows... wich means that your head is WAY forward of your body... look at the exterior view and compare that to where your head is in the inside view... its bugged...

It seems all the cars need a much farther back seat position... after i switched to Widescreen HD, i was expecting to see more of the windshield, not less of the interior. in widscreen you should be able to see the entire windsheild, and bot side mirrors... i cant even see with rearview in most cars, with the seat all the way back :mad:

I found that you can actually adjust the seat to show all the rear view mirrors and see more of the arms of the driver. In most cars.
If you're having trouble finding this setting, then look in the game options area. You'll find it then and maybe we can have threads about real issuse with the game.. Maybe..

Then the problem is it changes all the other cars inside views. So I know it's a bug now... Any plans to fix the in-game car bugs? There are quite a few after all...

This may sound stupid to some, but I know the GT is very similar but I don't wanna use it, I think it's nowhere near as nice as the standard F1. IMO the standard F1 is the best of the bunch looks wise, which is why I want my view back to normal! :cry:
I have to say though the interior of the GT looks much sharper than the standard F1 though.

The Gallardo SE & Coupe have messed up rear views, rather than looking through a window the view is directly above the engine in the rear
