Hi

I use Windows Ultimate 64 with 4GB Ram.
With this config I cant play TDU, I see only a blackscreen and after this my desktop...

With 2GB Ram the game works fine.

You CANT use all of the 4Gig in Windows... You have to ADD the GFX Mem and so on as well, so you get only 2 to 2.8Gig free...

If this is Vista ultimate 64bit edition you can use WAY more then 4 gigs of ram. im running 6 gigs.

But the game still dosent work and this is in my case related to POOR beta drivers from Nvidia.

Im useing the 32Bits, and I only have 2Gig, but Ive talked to some person that said "Vista is like XP, you cant use more than 6Gig." Guess he was wrong then :)...
Do you have the FULL 6 Gigs ???
Vista isnt like XP then ???
I mean if you look at your Computer then you have the FULL 6Gig, its not just showing the 6Gig but you get the 6Gig to utilize ???

Vista 32bit supports the same amount of ram as XP does. You need 64 bit adressing to use more. But other then that Vista is in no way like XP :)
well i like Vista what i dont like are all the hardware manufacturers who has known and had access to Vista since WAY befor beta1 stage. And they still hvae to spend 3 more months to get some propper drivers out.

My gfx trouble comes from having the bad luck of getteing a 7950gx2 card. That uses sli technology. This is not supported on the vista drivers yet, so im going back to xp for all my gaming needs.

Its Microsoft that changed some code in the last minute before release thats made all the Manufacturers have to reprogram their Drivers... BUT it has gone only 1 or 2 months since Vista was released...

For some heavy duty work like video editing, would be one example.

Vista only runs smooth with 2-3gb+ (it uses 450mb-1gb on it's own just to run), and i expect games that need dx10 to need 2-3 minimum, let alone optimal, GB of RAM.

Hey, I just bought this game today and I've installed it three times. Each time I try to start it the screen goes blank followed by a windows message saying "Test Drive Unlimited has stopped working." :noooo:

I'm running Vista Home Premium 32-bit with 4gb of RAM and a Radeon 2900XT.

Its absolutly nothing to do with "Ultimate" or "Home premium" or the name of the OS, its about the "bit"

32 bit OS's can recognise 4GB of memory, 64 bit can recognise 1000GB of memory which is why its the future.

EDIT: Back to the topic... it seems you might have a dodgey stick of RAM, thats happened to me in the past.

Troubleshoot by mixing and matching to try and find the dodgey stick or run a memory diagnostics tool.
