Hi guys,

I hope someone can help me. I've opened the following ports on my router and still get TDU servers unavailable....

TCP 8889
Ports 17475 and 9961 (TCP/UDP)
* 6667 (IRC)
* 3783 (Voice Chat Port)
* 27900 (Master Server UDP Heartbeat)
* 28900 (Master Server List Request)
* 29900 (GP Connection Manager)
* 29901 (GP Search Manager)
* 13139 (Custom UDP Pings)
* 6515 (Dplay UDP)
* 6500 (Query Port)

Now the Readme says
You must be able to access these external ports:
UDP 8880->8889
UDP 8890
UDP 27000->30000
TCP 6667
TCP 27000->30000

Does that mean i have to open all those too! I have an old Solwise 715 router, i add each line separately so please tell me i dont have to 3000 ports 27000->30000?
http://portforward.com/english/route...Spy_Arcade.htm

I admit im not 100% up on port forwarding so if anyone can help guide me that would be very much appriciated ??!

Im in the UK, I have Zone alarm also but Testdriveunlimited.exe has been ticked allowed for both server and access. The game accepted my gamespy login and nickname details without any trouble.

Thanks

sorted. Ports were fine it just didn't like my usual gamespy nickname for some reason. new nickname and it works now :)

I just got the game and just made a Gamespy account but it keeps saying my username is invalid. Any ideas why? I'll keep trying but it just won't have it.

The game seems to have some issue with the nicknames. I have a couple of gamespy arcade accounts with nicknames and while the game recognised the email and password it wouldn't accept the nicknames. You just have to choose a new nickname thats not currently in use and it seems to work fine after that.

EDIT: Thats in game ie, put in your email addy and password and keep trying nicknames in game until one gets through.

Bit of a pain

I found my old Gamespy account so used that but with the same username and it worked. Servers don't seem to be working though, it says they're available but there's no-one about on the map, in races, and I keep getting the unavailable servers pop-up every now and then.

IV. GameSpy Firewall Ports

When you play on a system that is behind a firewall or proxy, certain ports may need to be opened to connect to multiplayer games.

You must be able to access these external ports:

UDP 8880->8889

UDP 8890

UDP 27000->30000

TCP 6667

TCP 27000->30000

You have to open the following local port: TCP8889

Ports 17475 and 9961 (TCP/UDP) must be opened.

This is what i found, but how do i exactly open these ports? Where do i go and etc :) As you've noticed, i'm not that good with computers :p

OK login to your router adminstration pages from a web browser

http://speedtouch.lan

login as administrator - by default there is no password

Browse to: Toolbox - Game & Application Sharing

At the bottom of the page click on the "click here" link and create an entry for each of the following ports (you will have to name each entry) - Refer to pages 55-57 in your manual for further info.

TCP 8889 translate to 8889 trigger protocol/port any

TCP 9961 translate to 9961 trigger protocol/port any

UDP 9961 translate to 9961 trigger protocol/port any

TCP 17475 translate to 17475 trigger protocol/port any

UDP 17475 translate to 17475 trigger protocol/port any

Go back to the Game & Application sharing page and pick each entry from the dropdown box - assign to "your pc" and click ADD

hth

EDIT: If some kind soul on here can confirm whether or not TDU is upnp aware you may just be able to get away with clicking "use upnp" rather than having to manually port forward.

I cant get the link to work, it says

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

I'm connected to the internet, and the link doesnt have any typing error, so there must be a problem with the site? i have no idea, getting confused here now :mefiant:
Thanks for the help anyway crappucino. I'll bookmark this thread for later :)

open your command prompt and type: ipconfig

look at the ip address of your default gateway

enter the address into your web browser prefixed with http://

That should get you to your router setup pages
