View Full Version : Low FPS
Yep another thread, I just want eny tips'n'hints to raise the fps.
When i first start the game i have like 30fps, when im surrounded by houses or lots of stuff i get like 15fps, i have tryed the tweaked INI files thing, didnt make a diffrence.
My Specs:
------------------------------------
Motherboard: Asus A8N5X
Graphic card: ATi X850XT
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3700+__ 2,21 Ghz__
Memory: 1,5gb, not sure of the speed
Sound Card: Creative SB Audigy 2
Wheel: Logitech G25
Hard Disk Drive: 1x 40gb 7200rpm, Windows installed on that. and another one on 200gb 7200rpm, TDU on that one
------------------------------------
thank u :)
Close every single program running in the background. Anti virus etc..
Restart computer that works for me :)
i dont use anti-virus on eny of that.. i have had the game for a week now :P dosnt help to restart lol.. might help :) to quit some background progz
i got some fps boost by updating graphics drivers, closing all unnecessary processes, lowering sound hw acceleration and applying the low spec ini files. though the game is still unplayable...

the 2 best views are Hood and Bumper are the best "High FPS" views(not my preferences) but they are most FPS friendly.(Im personally a Cockpit only guy so I suffer with my 30s) where I "could" have 40-50s if I would just move to Hood mode alone. But I use TrackIR so its too odd of a view for me(tho Im not totally against hood view(would always be my 2nd choice after Cockpit)
Hope this helps some of you out(basically any other view where you can "see" your car is going to kill the FPS pretty much the same)
Thanks & ~COTI!~ :salut2:(Cya on "The Island")
tryed lowering the sound acc, and updated the graphic drivers, still **** rolleyesa.
even shutdown loooads of background progs, evrything but SYSTEM tasks, even the explorer.. went a little better then tho.

you lot are unhappy with 20 od fps!? I have to play with 9-12fps in city and 18-20 fps elsewhere on the following:
640x480
no AA
no HDR
low detail
But new GFX card coming soon! :)

yeah, i did say that it's still unplayable... oh yeah and i forgot to say that you should use the bumber or hood view(that actually helps very much), but SJ_INSTG8R already said that, though i prefer the cockpit..the last game i remember that had this kind of cockpits is need for speed 2 lol
actually i believe the cockpits are possibly the best thing in tdu
but i wont be enywhere but inside, its where i belong :P but i cant enable HDR, why not? :P

i happen to agree with hazinator...
i play at same as he does due to crappy gfx card: x300 ati pci-e
get 20fps tops and at points a hell of a lot of lag but i manage...
i have to say tho that i ran crappedillio at first but when i disabled every backgrnd prog and defragged HD and installed latest video card driver it went a lot better...as good as it gets at least on my 128mb card... tonguegre
but what u need to try is to uninstall ur driver and try an older one...some cards get crappy fps with latest drivers it seems...
just try and see if it helps :hin:
i havent tryed to defrag the hd, how do i do it? link to a prog? :)

I am getting low fps like you guys, but i have hardware that should be able to play the game okay. Game developers just don't seem to optimize their games as much these days. It also seem so be the games problem not ours because no matter what you try to do to get more fps it stays the same so this clearly points out its due to bad optimizing.
