Short description: TDU freezes the game and system. And that kinda randomly

Bug description: TDU does freeze my system randomly. It does not matter if I'm in the house, on the free ride mode, or in a race/mission.
The momment the game freezes seems to appear totaly random to me, and makes no sences. Like it is not me or my computer that causes a freeze but something from the outside, like from the server or so.

I was playing the public beta and had no kind of problems like this at all. I could play for 6 and more hours without a freezes. Now its like every one hour down to every 20 minutes ???

Sinces I had already 1 day where I could not join the game at all because of server problem. I wonder if this problem is caused from the TDU/Atari server instace from me?

What do the Bug do?: It freezes my PC totaly, Sound and music stuck suddenly (like turing totaly off), signals from my keyboard or mouse are iroged (pressing NUM key does make no rection on the LED on my keyboard).
There is also no error message or bluescreen error to see, just a total freeze of the game and the full windows system.
I have to reboot the computer by pressing the reboot button as only sollution.

Recreatable?
Yes I can recreate this bug. How? I just start the game and play it from a while. Then comes the freeze from self. It does not matter to select a special car or race or do any special action.

Have you tried to create another profile and checked if the same problem occured?
Its just to check if its your "saved" profile thats f*d up or the game itself!

Have you checked your event viewer, if so what does it say?

Yes I started a new profil already and still have the problem. My only suggestion is now to try to disable HDR and Anti Analyse. I did not run those in beta.. and beta had no problems...

I have exactly the same problems as you with it. I have similar equipment to you also- an Athlon 64 4200+, X800XTPE Radeon, SB Audigy. I updated the soundcard driver very recently and for the first time the other day i got a BSOD error instead of the regular sound stuck on and a complete system freeze.

I get the feeling that the crashes are something to do with the soundcard and or drivers.

Same here.. MacBook Pro with X1600. Have tried and endless list of video drivers, disabled ACPI, disabled my soundcard (and all the other unnecessary hardware), played with all possible ingame graphics settings, tried different programs, today even reinstalled Windows, and as a last resort tried third party executables ;), just for the heck of it. Whatever I do, these crashes keep coming back. TDU is back on the shelf eating dust.

Same here guys, unpredictable freeze of entire system:-
Appears completely random, no other services running in the background,
will try:

-whipping out the sound card/reinstall X-FI drivers and see what happens
-checking the event viewer

whatever -so far -immensely frustrating

Eden/Atari? Where are you?

help appreciated...

hm, there could be somtin' wrong with soundblaster!
tough i got the same stuttering, chopping error, u did, it was never BSOD freeze. that was solved with new vga driver (beta fw 100.95)
but the athoer day, i just updated my creative sb live 5.1 driver, and after a while of gameplay, i got bsod.
it is aknown issue with creative soundblasters, the game manual says it :)

i think, there is a great need of a patch which will solve mnay problem!

the game just randomly crashes and freezes the computer.

it happens while driving or on the menus.

This happens in version 1.45 and with 1.66a.

ive tried installing/re-installing, all the tricks and bits ive found on these forums.

This happens in offline profiles aswell.

on top of those, i have run teh game with my soundcard disabledm all drives disabled and i even tried running the game with a '*****' to no avail.

im running XP SP2 on a AMD 64 X2 4400, with a XFX 8500 GT 512MB, 2GB DDR2 667MHz RAM and a SoundMAX sound card.
