Hello I've got a problem with the tdu all off a sudden he crashed. I played the game for about 5 days without any trouble but all off a sudden he crashed at the savingpoint. So what I did was I installed new drivers, reinstalled the game for about 5 times. The trick that you have to remove everything out of the test drive folder except the cd key. I deleted playersave2. What I also did was create new accounts. But nothing helped. Could someone HELP!!

I have the same problem, the game worked for 5 days! I managed to play for 6 hours or so, that's not a bad price, 50 euros for 6 hours of fun. But I think it's not as it should be.

Fix my game please!

Guys, it's impossible to know why the game crashes without seeing your dxdiag files. The problem is often caused by old drivers, in fact far more often than you think.

Please email us at uk.support@atari.com giving us as much information as possible on your problem and don't forget to attach your dxdiag file.

Guys, it is impossible to say what the problem is without seeing your dxdiag files. Make sure that you have the latest drivers, as crashes and hanging when saving are very common symptons of old drivers.

These posts aren't very helpful you know. tenebra suggested the same thing. Is this written in some help book that all the mods have. :wink2:

It's actually called common sense. If I can't see your dxdiag file, I don't know what's going on in your system and I can't help you. On top of that, I'm also unable to report the issues to developers for a fix.

I (of course) have the same problem.

It stopped working about a week ago and I don't know what caused it.

I was playing as ususal and i got a ctd during a race. This has happened before so I didn't really care. Except this time when I restarted the game I had a noticable fps drop (when I see my current house and char in the couch that is).

I clicked EXIT to the bottom right to exit to the road and well, that's as far as I got. I get the TDU logo with a "LOADING..." and then it locks up.

I've tried...
Reinstalling the game
Updating drivers (graphic and sound)
The things people have discribed in this forum to make it work.

Obviously nothing has worked.
My rig isn't exactly top notch, but I have played it during the beta and full version with good fps on hight settings and without any serious problems (problems that made the game unplayable that is).

I send my DxDiag to Atari, but they didnt answer till now.
I think there is a big server problem, because why could I play for 5-6 days and from one moment to another it failed.

If someone has an idea you can send it to me: flip.79@gmx.ch

i share your idea.

i played for two weeks without any problem.

than out of nowhere the game locked up. and i cant get it going again.
sounds like something went wrong on the servers and made it to everyonce pc somehow.

i dont care what it is or who's fault it is.
i just want it fixed.
cause now i have an unplayable 50 euro game on my desk that i cant return anymore ...

I have been able to play for a few days, then tdu crashed.
Now often after the 3 intro anims( Atari etc.) the screen goes black.
If the game passes this point I am capable of getting to my house, but when going out it freezes at the "saving Please wait..." screen most of the time. When it doesn't the game often runs for hours but sometimes crashes.

Updated/ installed :
-Bios
-WinXp updates including Dual Core Hotfix with registry edit.
-AMD CPU Driver and the Dual Core Optimizer.
-NVidia nForce and Forceware Drivers.
-Reïnstalled game/ deleted savegames( keeping backups.)

Also tried : Disabling cpu1 for Test Drive, using onboard sound card, disabling Firewall, checked drive for errors and some more things.
Somewhere, someone said to delete certain files, but I could not find them on my system.

DXDiag does not show any problems, also no problems in SiSoftware Sandra, 3DMark06 or Titan Quest.

System : Asus M2NVP-VM, AMD x2 5000+, Kingston HyperX 2 GB DDR2-750 Kit, EVGA 320MB 8800 GTS, Soundblaster Live 5.1, WD 2500 SATA2, Cooler Master Real 450W.

I'm not going to put any efford in uploading my dxdiag, the game should just WORK if we buy it,and there may be some bugs, but don't release something the same as the beta, and even worse without even looking at our bugs,so hello atari, just let us rot here, you've got your money don't you?

JackalHead
16-03-2007, 20:17
@Phuzion : yes, the game should just work, but a computer game is a complex thing, there WILL be bugs.( I have to admid that the bugs in this game seem to be quite severe and widespread though.) The developers won't be able to solve your problem without you giving them information about it, I just mailed them.
I DO understand your frustration, I'm banging my head to the wall all the time. All this after waiting for months...

@all : I just solved "the black screen after the anims problem" by bypassing the router. This got me driving around for 1 time online untill some random crash. I don't understand routers at all so this means that either I won't be able to play TDU or my wife won't be able to access the internet at all...
Also I just found out that I can play with an offline profile but this will destroy my online profile.( lost all progress I made after bypassing the router.)
On top of everything else, when I am able to play I have sound problems, both with SB Live 5.1 and onboard audio, going to the map solves this problem for a while. Plus when making wild moves while driving, the game often stutters severely.

Can the other people with the "saving please wait" problem please post wether they use a router and what happens if you bypass it.

Actually,i just changed some settings in my catalyst, the game ran,i needed to go off for a hour, restarted the game, gues what, savegame crash, and now the video card changing doesn't work either to get the game to run,and about the router, what the hell would a router have to do with the game, this game really is weird if it runs if you change something in your router,so lets try it,if it does, the makers of this game have done something, unbelievable(stupid?:P)

Are any of you using any INI tweaks, like the ones released for increased fps?

I did and my game works now, I had the "freeze on save" problem. I simply replaced the altered ini files with the original ones and started the game. It worked. Then I switched back to the tweaked ones because I need the extra fps and it still works, except for the occational but rare ctd's that is, but I've always had those.

Hope this at least helps someone.

Why aren't the guys from atari responding to mails? I mailed to the uk support desk and to the dutch support desk. But no one is responding on the mails, I mailed them last week and no response yet. WTF is going on? madred: I payed 50 euro's for the game and it's a hopeless and the service even worse!

I called the help desk number and atari told me, that they dont know that there is any problem with TDU. They also told me, that this must be a personal problem with my PC ... haha :hin:

They gave me 0190 - number (1,99 Euro/min), --> That is no customer care !!!

ATARI PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM OR GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK !!!

Yeah, they always say it's your PC that isn't working properly. Every other big company treats customers the same way.

It's really bull****.

For that reason i don't even bother to give any dxdiag files to aynone. I know what's wrong with my system if there is something to know about.

:atari: Fix your bugged game.

I suspect Eden was against early release because bugs, but Atari forced them to gold status.

It's a sad story how atari is responding to this serious problem. They run away for there own mistakes and blaming our pc's. But how could it be that the only game that give trouble is tdu :hin: It's a really unstable game so atari fix this problem and stop blaming our pc's.

Mailed to Securom accidentially who responded very! fast. Send the mail to Atari on saturday, got this message yesterday( monday) :

<<<Sorry to hear about your problems. We are aware of the freeze at save point, this might be caused by known issues with nVidia drivers. We are working with nVidia to find a solution as soon as possible, I will send your comments to Eden for further investigation.

I have noticed that you use the Momo wheel, please note that it’s not supported.

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful in this instance, hopefully there will be either a new drive or a work around very soon.

Kind regards
Atari UKCS>>>

However, after finding out that my router was causing the black screen after the intro anims, saturday I gave my computer a static ip address and forwarded the ports for GameSpy as told in the readme file from Atari( altough I'm quite sure I didn't do it right as routers are a bit out of my league.)
I HAVEN'T HAD THE SAVING POINT PROBLEM SINCE!!!( knocking on wood...)
Strange thing is : when I connected to my cable-modem directly, by-passing the router, I still had the saving point problem, so I'm guessing it maybe the static ip.

In case you want to try port forwarding : http://www.portforward.com/ gives quite a bit of info on this subject and about getting a static ip.

I hope this helps someone

i also have the same problem with the freezing the saving game loading page, again another annoying bug from this game. This game is a good game that has been ruined by annoying little bugs.

i was only playing it a week before i came across this problem. i managed to defeat it once with serious amounts of resetting and fiddling with settings but the next day it did not get past that page, i have reinstalled drivers, directx9.0c and nothing will work. my computer meets all the recommended* specifications.

P4 3.1ghz
2gb ram
xfx nvidia geforce 7600gt 256mb
xp home sp2

if anyone could help i would be greatful,

I,m very disappointed on Atari.I got a game 2 days ago and i had not even played a minute of it.I have same problems like rest of you guys and seems like we have to wait  .

And why do they let people to make a game that dont even know how to write.I dont speak english very good but at least they could make a game better.Go to the place there you installed the game and than go to Atari-Test Drive Unlimited-Euro-Bnk and there you will see a file called "vehicules" instead of vehicles. It a little bug but i,m saying it because i,m mad on Atari for releasing this game with so,so,so,so,so much bugs madred: .

funny thing is,they sayd at the very beginning, wait 2 weeks and the will be probably some kind of patch,3 weeks later we still didn't see a thing, good thing for atari is im getting it for the PS2,just to be able to play it,knowing they HAD TO rebuild the game to make it work for the ps2.
