I have difficulties to get this game running in SLI.

Well mate sorry I play for the "Red Team" so I cant offer you any specifics I CAN tell you my Crossfire IS "working"(I monitor temps on my G15 keybrd so if its not working only one card warms up)but basically, working or not it doesnt make a whole lot of difference in performance for me anyway at this point(Im SURE it helps when it gets down low in the FPS dept thats about the only advantage I am seeing at this point is its ability to push on thru without turning into a complete slide show)
IF you get it working I would be interested to see if SLI has better "performance boost" then CF.

Yes its work fine , if use gothic2 profiles.
Rename TestDriveUnlimited.exe to gothic2.exe. Now it,s use gothic profiles.
Or modify C:\\windows\system32\nvapps.xml file. And replace TestDriveUnlimited profile parameters in gothic2 parameters.
My FPS in doubbled in this fix. and no lagged or any other problem anymore.

Man we need a Stickie like the US Forums (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=574938) has..... sour:
So many solutions just getting lost in the shuffle,
I have 7800GT's in SLI, and get my copy Tomorrow or friday (dispatching today), I will try a few things out and see how it works too. A buddy of mine is using a CF setup and is reporting the same thing - not much performance increase.

Well i tried that allready before I posted (Gothic2 profile and name changing of Testdriveunlimited.exe and more of that) this but I will give it another try.
I tried it with Forceware 93.71, wich is the most bugfree for me at the moment (proper purevideo, SLI + profiles available). Yesterday I tried 94.20 and modded 97.92's (from Tweaksrus.com) but these don't have SLI profiles.
The problem with 93.71 is that nHancer doesn't work.
Maraker can you explain how you did modified the (Gothic2) profile for SLI in TDU?
Thanks for the help so far. :)
Well...
-Fresh 93.71 WHQL install (i did driver cleaning before)
-modified nvapps.xml in /system32 folder with the code from Gothic 2:
<PROFILE Label="Test Drive Unlimited">
<APPLICATION Label="testdriveunlimited.exe"/>
<PROPERTY Label="multichip_rendering_mode" Value="0x02400009" Itemtype="predefined"/>
</PROFILE>
-My Logitech G15 running Fraps in display DOES report "Gothic 2" when I just start the game...
-I activated Show SLI GPU-load balancing en the green bar does show SLI is working, sometimes the slider maxes about 80% of the height of the screen.
Results so far in "fps": [SLI/NON-SLI]
Main menu: 220 / 225 fps
(starting new game)
Choose player: 82 / 79 fps
Renting a car, pop-up "menu hint": 66 / 65 fps
Start with car: 74 / 73 fps
Doing a "Brunout" (smoking tires, testing min. fps): 32 / 32 fps
Display settings: 1360x768 4AA, High quality, no HDR.
Driver settings, FSAA application controled, Quality Highest, No transparant FSAA, Gamma correct AA ON, Triple buffering OFF, Vsync OFF, Negative LOD -0.1, threaded optimization ON, Conformant texture clamp ON, ANSIO OFF.
Conclusion so far: 0% gain with SLI. :mad:
I just see that the Test Drive Unlimited - PC Tech Discussion
is a Self help forum.
Can a moderator replace this to Test Drive Unlimited - PC (http://forums.eu.atari.com/forumdisplay.php?f=447)
I do need some offical Atari support for this common SLI problem...

Sorry Detmer I pushed this thread HARD because General discussion LOOKED like Tech Support.
But yes so far we are on our own. if you see the link Thaney posted to the US forums you can at least see THEY have at least a STICKY with the user found solutions. sour:

If you want something the same just create an appropriately titled thread and start it off with useful information. You can then either ask a mod to make it a sticky, or if it is truly useful they will take notice of it and make it a sticky before you even ask. The mods around here are quite accomodating and helpful when they can be, and when reasonable requests are made of them. :)

It's bad that this game does not have any support for SLI. Even EA-games hasn't much support for it but has a better powerboost than this game. :cry:
But the boost of SLI is very differend. In BF2142 i've got a boost of 100% (no joke). I've got a website with this review. But I think i can't post it here. That would be recognized as spam. tonguegre

Well woozle I have been speaking with the mods and I am trying to get stickies like they have in the US forums and yes they are very accommodating.
You KNOW I tried to start a Tech Thread before we had this one but for the most part and STILL for the most part its the same issues over and over in GD.
I have offered to compile all the solutions we have come with so far so they can be stickied(just dont think I'm whining mate I am all over this "behind the scenes") ;)
