Hello everyone,

I just bought TDU this afternoon and I installed it on my computer.
But now I have a problem when I want to start the game.

When I click the icon, a black screen appears and then after 2 seconds I return to Windows to my normal "desktop" (don't know if this is right, I'm Dutch so my English isn't very good)

Can somebody please help me with this problem? cry:

Make sure you have good enough PC specs.

Also, make sure you have your most recent graphics card drivers installed, to do this go to the maker of your graphics cars website and select your card and download the most recent drivers.

Hope this helps :)

hi!

i had the same problem (or i'm still having it... :noooo: )

what kind of graphics card are you using?

if you don't know try this:

-click on "start" in the left corner on the bottom of your desktop.
-click on "ausführen""run" or whatever it is named (should be the third button from down to up)
-type in "dxdiag"
-a window appeares. click now on "anzeige""graphics" or whatever it is named
-now you can see what graphics card you have

you need at least an
ATI Radeon 9800 or NVIDIA GeForce 6600 weirdblue

i'm now saving my money for a better graphics card, because i have only a ATI Radeon 9250... madred:

wehay :) Someone with the same old card as me :) I have exactly the same problem. Loads, goes black andthen back to desktop, as if nothing every loaded. I've put it down to my card not have the pixel shader blah blah blah. I knew it wouldnt run very well, but I was interested to know if it would run at all. it doesnt as we know :)
I'm in exactly the same boat .. saving for a graphics card. (infact I'm saving for a whole system, im looking at spending £400 mobo, ram CPU + graphics - eveything else donated form the old PC)
sorry .. just happy im not the only person trying it out on a 9250 :)
EDIT : whats the game run like with the ati 9800 256mb? I hit the minimum specs
2.4 celeron, 1gb ram. just the gfx card.. any views, is it worth it?

guys,

ive already posted about this problem in a previous post,

if you disable your "gameport device" in device manager it will work.

start>setting>control panel>system>hardware>device manager>sound,videoandgamecontrollers>

right click on "game port" and click disable.

then try TDU again.

worked for me. hope that works for you.

mine was "game port for creative" because i have a "PCI creative Soundblaster" soundcard in my pc.

you may have something similar?

also check under the "HUMAN INTERFACE DEVICES" section and disable any "HID-compliant game controller"

that may work.

whats listed in "sound/video controllers" ?
i also tried this, and it didnt work.
Im hoping though, this is due to my radeon 9250, as I have an ati x1650 agp 512mb coming tomorrow and i hope it will run once thats installed :-)
took the liberty of screenshotting my list :)

my menu on sound, video and game controllers is:

Audio Codecs
Legacy Audio Drivers
Legacy Video Capture Devices
Media Control Devices
Realtek AC97 Audio (this can be disabled)
Video Codecs

My computer is a laptop which I only got a year ago and it's graphics card is
an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator For Mobile

I don't know whether this will make a difference

Really appreciate your help

I had the same CtD after intro movies,

Faulting application testdriveunlimited.exe, version 1.1.45.1, faulting module testdriveunlimited.exe, version 1.1.45.1, fault address 0x00034bfa.

All I did to solve the problem was force some 3D settings in NVIDIA control panel.

I changed the following to:

Anisotropic Filtering: 8x
Antialiasing settings: 4x
Multiple Graphics Card Acceleration: Single Display Performance Mode
Texture Filtering: Performance

Everything else set to global defaults.

I haven't got around to testing higher settings as I was so relieved that it finally worked, also I have no idea what change or combination of changes fixed the CtD.

anyway, for anyone else that is having this issue it might be a good idea to force lower settings through NV Control panel (or your cards equivelant) then if the game works slowly raise your settings testing the game each time.

My System:
A8N32-SLI D
Athlon X2 4200+
2x1GB OCZ Gold 3200 GX
2x WD Raptor (RAID 0)
XFX 7600GT (on loan until my RMA'd card comes home)
Creative X-Fi Fatal1ty.

Hope this helps.
