oh, something ive just noticed. in the "test drive unlimited" folder in "my documents" i have a file called "TDU_MC_1_45_A.dmp" ? its about 10mb in size.

this file wasnt there before i ran the game. anyone else got this file?

hi guys,

ive managed to fix this myself i think.

i googled "test drive unlimited crashes on startup" and got a few results which suggested disabling the gameport device in hardware manager.

i did this, because i dont use it, i have usb, and the game boots up fine now.

to behonest this surprised me a little, how can a company as big as atari not find a bug as obvious as this one? and fix it before release. pretty poor in my opinion. but atleast it seems to be working now.

hope this helps anyone else who has a similar problem.

You're right there, this is a result of a too short period of bug seeking for sure. It seems that Atari wanted to ship this one out in a terrible hurry. Now it is up to us players to do the testing, which in my opinion is a bit bad. When you have payed money for a game you expect to play, not struggling with all kinds of problems that could easily have been prevented! :nono:

This is a crash dump file. You can send this file to Atari as it can help the dev team to debug the game.

if you alter the aa settings through the drivers ie make it so the game runs in 16x aa this in somecases causes a crash to desktop...
