OK - so it hasn't got bikes... I can easily live without that.
No dress up mode - this is a driving/racing game - not a Barbie & Ken set!
No steering wheel function - annoying, but to be honest I haven't room to set up & leave my wheel out permanantly so I can deal with that one too (I very rarely play GT4 with the driving force pro any more, as good as it is).
It would have been nice to be able to use R3 as gas & brake as I am used to that combo in midnight club & need for speed, but again - I've adjusted back to the buttons with no probs so not really a big minus there.
i would have liked a view in between bumper & in-car (i.e. like the bonnet cam in NFS where u can seee the very front of the car & a rear-view mirror)
the graphics are excellent, the concept is excellent, the races, one on one ad-hoc challenges, sound, island, drive-ins (altho' a bit empty @ the minute) - all are excellent.
the only thing i don't like about this game is the fact that too many people have taken notice of what the mag reviews said (after playing for probably only a few hours) & shied away from trying the game.
what this game needs is a bigger community (hopefully to grow soon) so you don't have to drive alone so much (everyone congregates in a couple of areas @ the minute)
if u like driving/racing games or you used to (still?) play MC3 or NFS online buy this game & give it a chance.
It's excellent (even with it's faults - altho' as i've said I don't really see any of them as major faults anyway). Ignore what you may have read. go out & buy it tomorrow from Game (you can always take it back in 10 days if you really don't get on with it).
BUY IT! MORE PEOPLE NEEDED ONLINE! BUY IT! QUALITY GAME! BUY IT!
p.s. manual transmission would have been nice as an option & some form of chat would have been good too.
