What I'd like to see in Test Drive Unlimited 2

It's a great game and stands out from other racing games because it gives you the freedom of travelling around the island and finding upgrade shops and races etc.
It's this kind of uniqueness that gave the Grand Theft Auto the edge above the rest.

Rather than just racing then racing again, you can drive around a whole island using your satnav and go to one of many car showrooms, upgrade shops, estate agents etc.
IT’S SUPERB!!!!

But there are a couple of points, which I think, will make it stand out further from your avid racing game and bring it a little closer to the X Factor of GTA.

First point would be to include fuel. Cars run on fuel and this should be reflected within the game. After all a 6 litre V12 is going to drink fuel like there’s no tomorrow, especially when driven like a racing car. The next version should have a fuel gage and frequent fuel stations to fill up, spending your hard earned credits but not silly amounts. If you break down between stops because of lack of fuel than you are taken to the nearest fuel station at a cost.

Second point is a manual transmission, at the moment this is fully automatic and as soon as you press the X button you engage 1st gear and away you drive. The engine sounds in this game are excellent and I want to be able to rev the engine up and change gear when I want to. Of course this opens a new door; the fact that you can blow your engine. Again this means being taken to the nearing repair shop at a cost.

Thirdly, the ability to sell of part exchange cars for better ones, just like in the real world. I know the game is about building up cars and houses to store them in, but to part ex cars in would give you extra cash to buy better cars. Better cars means better racing, which means more cash to buy even better cars and so on.

Also it would be nice to have some more camera views, one from the front screen showing just the bonnet (hood) like you get in other racing games. Also a chase camera view too so you can watch your car as though it were being filmed at various angles.

Crash damage would be another jump in the right direction, at the moment if you crash you inflict no damage what so ever on your car or the surrounding objects. Damage your car too much and you’ll have to spend hard earned cash to fix it up.

Other things to add could be a visit to a race track, driving there and using your car on the race track. Also have another site you can visit where you can perform stunts. There is a problem with this second idea with regards to the damage. Maybe you can perform jumps and loop the loops but either without inflicting damage while on the stunt track or the damage is automatically fixed when you leave the track.

Finally can we see some Ferrari’s and BMW’s as these are other cars we would all like to drive. Include In the list the BMW X5 4.4i V8, that would be great to drive in this game. Keep all the game elements that it has now, just add to it in the next version to make it perfect.

Anyone agree with my comments or do you have other interesting items that can be added to make this a perfect game?

When i first heard about the game I was very exited thought online would be really cool. REALLY dissapointed by the online game and the game off line is kind of a waste ( MY opinion).

Online no mic capability and no wheel capability either. So how are we suppose to communicate with each other . also really dumb setup for trying to get races together unless your in the drive Inn.

Off line just race and buy or win cars and then buy a house to put them in ...then what

All of what you said in my opinion is true, but what i would really like and is what ive wanted in most car games, is that if u drive to a car park and there are loads of other players there, then u could get out of your car and take a walk and look at their cars, look underneath the bonnet perhaps, i think that would be really cool!

Well its baxck to GT4 and toca 3 for me 2 of the best racing sims and online racers there are . Just had enough of trying to complete the masters series races. one race over 100 miles long come on and the AI never seems to hit a thing either so ive shelved the game and there it will stay. Next time Atari need to work out the bugs before they go and say its a great game and get everybodys hopes up . Oh well it will be a good trader i guess

one thing uve alllllll missed ........ a test course that you test your max speed with for example there is a 90 mile dead straight course that you oind out what your highest speed is then it tells you your fastest speed.... then there would be no arguement about which is the fastest car

a would like to see something like a rolling road where ye could go to test your cars top speed and see how much bhp it has after it has a few miles on the clock. And better crashes seeing a car flip 300foot in the air then drive off once you crash into it is a bit pathetic.
the game is really good with wat its got but needs alot of improvment to keep up with the features in xbox,pc and ps3 game.
but toca 3 is still one of the best racing games about for me.

Possibly, but unlikely. I'm not quite sure. Maybe in PC but it will take up alot of space in the PC (Like flight simulator X, 14GB). Maybe even more or less if they do low quality graphic. But sure, I would like to roam the world. Oh yeah and nice idea for the ability for the convertibles sunroof to go up and down. I completely forgot.

Don't care for having fuel or damage. I just hate that I can't get to the Island at the Southeast part of the map. It's near the dock. Can't get passed the gate and I've driven down the side of the road but couldn't turn up on too it!l lol My cars was hanging on by the wheels until it fell off and was reset back to the road. Take the traffic off option. Note if you are having a problem winning a race it's not how fast you can go but how well you can drive at a good speed average. Ex. You go for 20 miles and average 220 mph. The AI will not catch you because they will be having be screwing. The AI doesn't screw up when you screw so it looks like they don't hit anything because you are hitting everything and it's slowing you down so you can't see them hit stuff.

There is already no doubt about the fastest car, the Chrisler ME 4 12 has the best top speed and the Koenigsegg has the best acceleration and cornering.

In TDU2 there should be the following....................

Petrol meter- little petrol stations displayed on map when fill up
Convertable- able to take roof of when i want 2
New map- set in somewhere like cuba or new zealand
Manual stick shift....
few more weather cycles (not just day and night)
MORE CLASSIC CARS!!!! we need more classica like Aston db5, Maserati merak, ferrari dino, few mor caterhams,
maybe even more brithish classica like Jensen healey, TVR, AC

Rain. Night. Damage. Fueling stops is a good idea, but let the gas be free (it is a fantasy game, after all). Smoother elevation transitions (never been on a hill that "steps" up and down like these do; maybe I'm just old and this is the way they pave roads nowadays).

Don't know about the console versions, but the PC version has a full manual. Since this is not really a racing sim, but a driving game, I'd also like to see some sort of a tourist mode. You know, you can drive to the docks, and see the ships, watch surfers on the beach, more incidental scenery. And maybe a few people? Oahu is a nice island, it would be nice to know it is populated (I know it's a driving game, but a few people walking around would add tons to the immersion value, IMHO).

Oh, and there seem to be no large trucks on the island. That would be nice. Boats (other than that single Princess Cruise liner). And maybe some offshore powerboats that you could buy and race on the water (within limits, of course)?

And one other thing that was never mentioned here... the ability to tune, and more importantly, UN-tune the cars. More customizing options (Wheels, tires) would be good too. Don't need the vinyl and the racing stripes and all that, but a choice of wheels and tires (with corresponding physics changes) would be quite welcome.

Dead zone/saturation adjustments for those of us with wheels. The current adjustments are... well, rudimentary.
