Ive seen a few glitches on this game, but none this bad.

Im doing the first transport mission in the enzo, (after my FOURTH restart) and im about 2 miles from finishing. Driving down the freeway, i notice that there appear to be construction works ahead, as the freeway, "literally stopped"....nothing.. no other side, just a big drop into the ocean....strange concidering i was in-land. I have two cars screaming up behind me and so i floored it hoping the road still "existed", but i was wrong, i plummeted about 2ft into the sea, at which point my computer crashed....AAAGGGGHHHHHHH.

This is caused by the next area not being loaded from your drive correctly. I noticed this once when I was moving a large collection of files from the same drive I had TDU installed on at the time. The game couldn't get the drive access it needed fast enough given the file transfer and the next segments of road simply wouldn't load and I would fall into the water below. It shouldn't usually be an issue if there isn't anything else going on in the background when you're playing.

I've had this happen to me with my 128MB 6800GT in my HTPC. Do you have a 256MB graphics card as stated in the requirements?

Mine's an ASUS, but yeah, I think it's got something to do with the 128MB video cards. Might be they can't keep that large a portion of the world in their memory, so they need to stream more visibly and especially with other HD load, this can lead to the world not streaming fast enough. Might be why there's the 256MB minimum... ;)

I dont think so.

When I installed the game for the first time, apart from the lag, the game worked fine for 2 days, i covered almost all of the island with no trouble. However, on the 3rd day, my profile was deleted. Ive uninstalled the game very thoroughly (application data.. etc) and reinstalled 3 times, now I have profile error, graphics error, lag and a constantly crashing computer while playing. The game is now completely uninstalled and my computer is fine. When not crashing or lagging, im easily getting 20+fps no problem, so im not convinced its the card, just crappy drivers.

I've had a similar issue with the PSP version. I ripped the UMD to an ISO and all was fine. Then I compressed the ISO to a CSO to save space and the game ran fine but when I was driving at high speed for a while it seemed to not load the next part of the world fast enough. I fell of bridges, into the sea, car popped out of nowhere. I'd say this is definitely streaming speed related.

Cheers

Yeah, a friend of mine told the same story about the PSP. He's also running it from a cso image.
