I bought TDU brand new from the shops and came home to install it...
After finishing the installation, i tried to get on the game. A black box appears for a second then dissapears...
Also, when i installed it, it never asked me for a code or something like that etc...
Just so you know, im trying to play on Windows Vista, but that shouldn't be a problem because it's compatible with it...
So how do i get it to work?

Just something to try - may or may not work.
I used to have this problem randomly with various games in the past. I was running Norton Antivirus. Shut it down from the system tray - also go into your running processes(Ctrl,Alt,Del - don't know if it's the same, never used vista) and terminate any processes that have owt to do with antivirus.
Same applies to any anti-spyware programs.
You could also try turning off your firewall or loosening it's settings slightly.
I seem to remember that the games I had problems with-the antivirus was being a bit over zealous and thought it was a malicious program trying to install itself.
Anyway hope this helps, as I know there is nothing worse than buying a game and then not being able to play it.
Good Luck - Let me know if you have any joy!!

Is this the Final version Vista 32? i know the RC1 and RC2 vesions had problems. The problem IMO is the grahphics drivers not fully functional with Vista.
it's a 32bit.

Hello all,
I have the same problem and I went through all the tipps I found in the forum (I actually bought the game to give it a try over the Easter weekend, instead I did spend the weekend trying to get it to run, and that even unsuccessful):
1. Deactivated all potential programms (no change)
1. updated drivers (didn't help)
2. uninstalled all gamecontrollers and HID devices (didn't help)
3. contacted SecuRom (they said can't help)
4. tried the trick with the .dll 's (didn't help)
5. Contacted Atari via their website (they didn't even bother to answer)
I am about to give up and I am very disappointed by Atari. I just wonder if the store will take back the game - I doubt it. So I guess this will be my first and last game from Atari especially since they don't even bother to answer to an email from a customer who did spend his money to buy a game from them.
If anyone has an idea what else to try please let me know.
Good luck to the others with the same problem
Ingo
P.S. Oh, yes my config:
OS: Windows XP MCE
Graphics: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family
Graphics: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family
According to Intel........Only the IntelŪ G965 Express Chipset Family supports hardware Transform and Lighting (T&L)1. All other IntelŪ graphics products do not have hardware support for T&L. In most games, transform and lighting calculations can be performed on the processor with acceptable performance. A small number of games that specifically check for hardware T&L support may fail to run.
That looks like your problem........ :noooo:

Hello Fluxx,
That is probably the problem. Thank you very much. So I have to see if the store takes it back. Otherwise there is still eBay. I am glad you could help me.
Thank you again

Hi
i played the game for about a week now,
everything ran smooth as it should be - until sunday...
the game crashes to the desktop after i select "continue game" in the start menu.
i have no clue wtf the problem is suddenly...
my system is as follows(dell xps laptop):
winxp sp2
centrino duo 2.16 ghz
gf fx 7900gtx 512mb
2 GB ddr2-667 ram
100 Gb hdd
onboard sound
cable internet (6m/512k)
as i say, no idea what the problem is, i always had about 60fps in the game which was more than enough and now i canīt play or even start it at least.
i disconnected the gamepad but that didīnt help.
any useful suggestions?
backround processes in the taskbar which are running are: irc(mirc), fraps, daemon tools, winamp, quicktime, bluetooth symbol, and dell quickset.
thanks...
soeren.
i unistalled it yesterday and re-installed, then it was working fine. dont know what the problem was.
