Help (online) - I can see people on the map but not when driving

For some reason when I am online I can never (apart from 1 time) see anybody driving around to challenge although I can see many players when in the map view. Also when I try to enter races in the drive-ins it always says lobby unavailable although I can see people in there. It isn't my copy of the game because there are loads driving around when I play online on my friends wireless connection so that leads me to believe it's my internet but that seems strange as it's a relatively fast connection.... Does anybody else have this probem :hin: :noooo:

I play my brother with ad-hoc mode, and I can't see him on the map either, he has to be driving alongside me for me to see him!

I have a similar problem, but I do tend to see the cars that are like 1000 yards away. But I think the problem is that the PSP cant handle showing all the users online so you can only see a selective number of users at one time. However, there is the feature "lock" where you can lock a user you see driving around so they don't just dissappear off screen.

I have exactly the same problem as TOM5 09, I can see other people on the map and have only occasionally seen them on the road - but I don't think this is a problem because mostly everyone's busy doing their own thing. What's really irritating is not being able to access the lobbies in the diners, and the more I read about this the more I think it's a router problem that could be resolved with port forwarding but I've contacted Atari & put out a request for help on various forums and nobody's coming back with anything! I know how to port forward I just need to know which ports to open. Help!

i have your problems to. i can organize a race but i cant go into a perfect race at drive in. when i can be the organicer i think its not a question of port forwarding or not

I have the same problem, i thoguht it was my copy of the game untill i found out that other people had the same problem.

When you press left to see online players you then press right i think to lock a player, but i hardly get chance to even try that... :(

I could not get the lock-on to work the way that you said, but when i was drving around i bumped into another while driving around we we just sitting ther not moving, and i tried to do a burnout by holding circle and x at the same time.It came up with lock on to player in the top left hand side of the screen.but i dont know if the game did it automaticly or it did it.but then it was like i was in a race and the other palyer wass a yellow dot on the map.

ah i think that may have been the other person locking you. :cool: I'l try locking someone later if I get the chance as I may have explained it wrong. :nuts:

C'mon Atari! There's a whole load of people here having a whole load of trouble with your game. What's the problem with online play?

I only just got my wireless adapter and have the same prob here, says 'lobby unavaliable' when i look for an instant race, and I never see anyone else online. Al of the drive ins have noone in, and there are no races going on at all. :mad: madred:

This also happens to me if any 1 knows why this is i would be so grateeful for them to tell us.

yeh that happens a lot, sometimes it's just because they are in a house or another race and thats whay you can't see them. But it also can be because you are connected to the wrong server (which you can't change). Aparently there are quite a few servers and only 4 can connect to one at once, so that tends to be the problem, which is very annoying... i know :mad:
