The PSP version also has savegame problems?!?!?!? Melbourne House should say something about this, what kind of bug it is, if it is avoidable, when it happens, etc. Maybe The_Mole knows something?!?!?
are there save problems on other consoles then?

Well, I've read several issues in the PS2 forum, but yours is the first one on the PSP forum. I know there was this bug in the XBOX360, but they solved it with a patch in mid-November. The thing is that it must be a strange and uncommon bug here in PSP, because I've been playing for nearly 35 hours (at least that's what the game says) and I haven't had any problem with the savegame. Could it be a problem of your Memory Stick? Or of the TDU version of your country? My version is the Spanish one, fully translated to Spanish, and as I said, I haven't encountered any problems with the savegame (at least until now, but I've made a copy just in case).

Just thinking, could it be a firmware problem as to how it accesses Memory Stick? What firmware are you using? Also, is there a way to check what version of the game do you have? Not region version, but version number or something. I don't think they used different versions for different countries, but who knows...
I Have UK Version Firmware 3.30 bought it on the day it came out if that helps

I also bought the game on the day it came out. I'm using firmware 3.10, but I don't think it has anything to do. The only things I can think of for the corrupted archives are:
1.- The bug still remains in one way or another and, although in a much rarer fashion than in PC, XBOX360 or PS2 versions, it sometimes appears.
2.- You turned off the PSP while the system was accessing the Memory Stick. Although it is rare to "catch" the PSP accessing the memory unit, it sometimes happens and it could corrupt the archive. It's the same as when you unplug a computer while transferring archives from a USB memory to the computer and viceversa, you get the same archive corruption.
The strange thing about option number 2 is that it doesn't include a security measure, such as writing to another memory address and not deleting the previous save until the new one is done correctly. Who knows. Anyway, I continue saying that I would appreciate if Melbourne House could clear this out to us (even if the answer is "it's a bug and we cannot release a patch because UMD's are not updatable").
Btw, what's the firmware upgrade you have in the game? My version includes firmware 2.86, which in my opinion is a bit old for the time the game was released, since you could download version 3.30 from Internet when the game was released on the 29th March here in Spain... Maybe they had some versions ready but didn't release them in mid-November (when it was first planned) because other countries didn't have their versions ready/translated?
my game comes with firmware 2.82 i thought i was going to get 3.10 even though i already had 3.30 i think melborne house have alot to clear up about this game

Hmmm, that's strange. That probably means that the English "image UMD" (from which they make all the copies) was made before the Spanish version, which I think it comes with firmware 2.86 (I have to check to be 100% sure it's 2.86 and not 2.82, I'll check it tonight). I also thought I would get firmware 3.10. In fact, I thought that because of all the delays that the game has suffered.
Nonetheless, if you search in the forums for posts by "The_Mole", there is one (I think in the XBox360 forum) with an e-mail address in which you can send your savegame to Atari so that they investigate what's the problem. I think you can start by sending them your savegame, to see what they reply. The strange thing is that for now, it has only happened to you (at least you're the only one who has posted it in the forums). I'm also really interested in knowing if it's a game bug or if it has to do with your PSP and/or Memory Stick you have.
Good luck!
i have already deleted the save grrr i wish i still had it oh well it looks like ill have to start again but this is still weird if the two games come with different firmware

Sorry, my fault, the Spanish version also comes with firmware 2.82, not 2.86 as I thought. The language is fully Spanish though, and the game's folder in the Memory Stick for the savegames is ULES006370000 (being the ES the code for Spain).
Its done it again my save has corrupted

Well, my suggestion is that you take note of the following:
1.- Conditions when it happened (firmware, battery status, if you were online/offline, percentage of completeness, etc.)
2.- Details of what you were doing just before it got corrupted.
3.- Did you have the autosave feature on?
4.- Had your account ever been online?
5.- Did it got corrupted more or less at the same time as the first one? (just in case it's a problem of the server)
You should send all this information, along with the corrupted savegame, to Atari's e-mail so that they can trace your bug and check it out.
I'm really sorry for you, because I know what's losing a savegame after a 90% completion (it happened to me with N-Gage's Asphalt 2).
