yes they are the same game & possibly share high-score tables (feel free to flame if i'm wrong about the high scores, but there is a shared problem with the top 4 records for speeds, mileages, drifts etc so I put 2 & 2 together...)

no you can't race for pinks.

Sorry DrKanAbyss, but I don't completely agree. After seeing the reviews for both the PS2 and the PSP versions, although they seem to share the same vehicles, I think there are some differences which must be taken into account. First, the graphics in the PS2 version seem to be more detailed than those the PSP version (I've seen some pictures with birds in the PS2 version, while I'm still waiting for a bird to appear in the PSP version apart from the graphic glitches of some buildings which have "roof lights" but haven't got any roof at all).

Secondly, the PSP version is missing the view of the inside of the vehicle. Sure, it has a view "a la Ridge Racer", but not the inside view (which I really miss, to be honest). After seeing these slight differences, I'd say that the PS2 version is slightly better than the PSP version.

On the other hand, although there is a user in this TDU PSP forum who has had his savegame corrupted, it seems that regarding savegames, the PSP version is much more stable than the PS2 version. You can check out for yourself in the PS2 forum. Several people have had their savegames corrupted in their official Sony Memory Cards, while I have a PSP savegame of more than 35 hours and a 100% completion and I have had no problem at all with the savegame (of course, I could get the bug tonight, but at the moment I haven't suffered it).

I have only played the PSP version, and I really wanted to own the PS2 version (and a PS2 :p ) but after reading those savegame bugs which have appeared, I'm losing the interest in this version (I had a bad experience with Asphalt 2 on the N-Gage, which has exactly the same problem of corrupted savegames which all of a sudden disappear and make you begin again, and it's really frustrating...).

OK, cool. I was just going by what I'd read here to be honest. I haven't actually played the PSP ver.

Great, you can confirm me if the birds I've seen in the pictures are actually seen during gameplay! In the PSP version I haven't seen any :p

Enjoy!

Yes they are, although they don't seem to obey the normal rules of nature & physics.

e.g. when you are driving along one of the raised sections of motorway you often see them flying along in the road

That's great! In the PSP version, in some of the cities where there are lots of buildings, there are some lights which don't obey the normal rules of nature & physics either. When you drive near them, you can see the fluorescent cases which are in the ceiling holding the fluorescent tube, but there is no ceiling in the building to hold them! :p  :p

Hey ptmcd11, could the corruption of the savegame come after a connection error to the online TDU servers? I'm asking this because I have never had my savegame corrupt, but I have also never connected to the TDU servers because I haven't got a WiFi router. So that could be the reason (just speculating).

Btw, how did you get 13 million EXP points and only achieve a 42-44% of completeness in the game before your savegame got corrupted? Didn't you do anything apart from cruising?!?!? I did that at first, but afterwards I started to do all the challenges because I wanted more cars :p

i found a method of staying in a circular and you build up a points bonus of about 10,000 per drift its insane at the race track hit 40mph at the side of the track then turn to drift to face the other way but stay in the turn you should then be in a circular drift and gain thousands of points also you can drive circuits of the island for hours lolblue:

and ive never had errors connecting to the tdu servers

EDIT- the drift method i found works best in a car with a heavy back end eg. Zonda and with TCS OFF
