Its not enough that i cant use my wheel without random frame drops, even a controller i was more than happy to play with until this issue is fixed, BUT NOW, whenever i start my game up, be a controller / wheel / keyboard connected or not, it wont go any further than showing my character sitting down in the house - it just freezes, i can't alt tab out, i can't do ANYTHING,

only option i have is to hold the power button on my pc until it turns off, i have tried getting it to work for about 15 restarts now, oh how i would curse right now, language so vile you'll vomit, but I'm going to save it, i've had problem after problem with this dam game, ever since the start, now I'm at 53% through the game, and it does this, i have tried absolutely everything, it's not a corrupt save, its not my controllers doing it, its not my keyboard or mouse, its not anything to do with my computer, nothing has changed, it was playing fine yesterday, i've made a new profile just a second ago, still doesn't start.

Any suggestions? as i can think of many many things to do with this pile of...

This may seem like another rant, but good god, this game has come to its end, yes, its only like 11 days till the 'patch' MIGHT be here, but is this going to fix it? you expect me to bother waiting almost 2 weeks to come back to this crappy excuse for a game?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mate, i rebooted my computer like 3 days ago, done virus scan and defrags soon after, as i said, its NOTHING to do with my computer, i know that for a fact.

It must be a corrupted file somewhere, have you backed up your profile, uninstalled the game and reinstalled it, then put your profile back ??

oh man, I HAVE COMPLETELY THE SAME PROBLEM!!!!!!, exact steps I have to do in order to try again....It completely freezes and cant do a thing, I have already tried with a saved game and nothing....

This is the second time my profile is so badly corrupted....I had more than 12 houses with all cars, lots of money, and lots of miles done, it is just insane, that this happens to you next day, while you have been playing the day before without a problem1!!!

please any advices??

I am going to write a letter to atari explaining all my problems..

again if anyone knows what to do, plase post it

This is the best pc game ever, I enjoy every part of the game, but this issues can continue, it is insane that his can happen once you have paid for the game.......

Now I dont even want to start from zero the game, no way i am doing that !!!, if they cant fix it, I think I wont play for a long time !!!, I just loosed enthusiast on this game !!!!

Hope they launch the patch REALLY SOON, WHY HAVE THEY BEEN WAITING SO MUCH???, i cant understand it !!!!

guys things have gone really worse, I cannot express myself, on this situation, I dont know what the hell to say....

I got a very quick reply from the atari support staff, I sended them my dxdiag file and I got some things outdated, they directed me to some webpages to uptade, they said me they could not do anything for this kind of situation, /they are working in it. And that I had to re-install the game, and install thouse updates, AND last but not least (as everyone knows), start AGAIN FROM ZEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOO (YUUUUPIIII), ok I can understand that sh!t happens, and that I love this game, probably from my point of view one of the best one's....BUT problems come now, I just start from zero, I rent my car(audi a4cabrio), and directly go to buy a house (guess what happens !!!!!! :) )

I get off my house (once I have seen the new messages I have and the tips and instructions, FOR THE THIRD TIME IN A ROW, FOR FILE CORRUPTION ;) ), and once I go to the streets to drive, TADÁÁÁÁ......it freezes again , and again....then I give the game a third chance, I could make it to the streets (thinking it was going to freeze), I went directly to do my first race for my 3rd profile corruption jajajaja(all i can do IS LAUGHHHH), and once I complete the race, it starts with the same sentence ¨saving, please wait, with the TDU logo as background, trying to re-direct me to the streets and drive, and again FREEZES......Today It has been incredible, I have swicthed off my pc like about 10-15 times pressing for 5seconds the shut down button , restarting again the full computer, as this freeze it has, I cant do alt/tab or any other thing, it completely stays there and does not move !!!.....

yesterday was plyaing online with some online friends, having some really good time.....having 12 houses full of cars, lots lots of miles, and lots lots of millions I had saved,,,,,and today I wake up, go online and starts this sh!t, its unbeliavable !!! mdr1 :atari:

alex myself had this same problem when i first started playing TDU

now what im about to say i cannot explain, but i promise you its 100% truth

download version3 of the program, run etc...

now play TDU and let me know whether you still have this problem...

my friend created the program and we have talked and talked about this and we both cannot understand this, but the problem you are experiencing i had. but using this program stopped it. however my friend who designed cant even explain it as its not made to do anything other than backup your save files.

the only thing ive noticed that this program cant solve is something i and a few others are going through is that when the servers are down for maintance it doesnt stop the corruption. (after all its not programmed to) however if you carry on playing after servers are down you should be ok unless your not willing to put up with incorrect news data, ie miles travelled

also i have noticed that you only lose your profile if you crash during a load\save screen. if you crash during gameplay then your profile remains ok

I have the same problem, the game doesn't start if i click on the icon ( dvd on the drive ), but if i open and close the drive it starts. o rolleyesa

If it only works when nothings plugged in like pad keyboard wheel etc it sounds to me like a usb problem, try putting an old none usb keyboard in, then see if it loads up?

the problem i'm having is not that it doesn't start, sometimes it crashes when i get to my character.

seems to be getting better though, doesn't happen AS MUCH.

Ive heard of people reformattiong changing bios wheel settings upgrading routers and hardware for this game with no change in performance when are you guys going to get it. It's the game
Just because it works fine on your computer doesnt mean that the 30% of us that are having problems are computer illeterate. I have spent weeks setting my computer up around this game to make it barely playable. and i clearly have the recommended requirements

Have you tried backing up the entire test drive unlimited folder in your my documents folder and then simply deleting the test drive unlimited folder from your my documents folder?

I got corrupted for the 2nd time yesterday, game would freeze everytime it got to the 2nd little logo intro movie. I completely removed the test drive unlimted folder from my documents. (backed it up first) and started game again. Problem was gone right away. Ofcourse now my profile was gone. I made a new (offline) profile real quick, didn't play, and left the game again.

Then copied the test drive unlimited folder back to my documents choosing to overwrite everything that is double.

After this I could start up the game again without any problems and my profile was back again too. Without any loss or corruption.

Finally, I have noted that savegames get corrupted after your computer crashes. (Razor said it's even only while saving, not sure about this) The crash however is not (or in my case wasn't) caused by TDU. So the savegame corruption is just an effect of people's pc's crashing on their own. In my case it was simply a matter of having too high of an overclock or forgetting to turn up my fanspeed, causing it to run hot and become unstable.

So, at least savegame bug isn't something causing crashes, but it's a sideeffect of crashes caused by other stuff. Not saying TDU never crashes on a stable system but simply that savegame corruption is not causing the crash. But the other way around.

Hey guys i have completely the same problem as you guys.
I don't know what to do anymore.
I did:
virus scan.
Reinstall.
defragment:
lower graphics.
new profile

Just everything i know what to change, but i just doesn't work.

right-click My Computer and choose 'Manage'

(NOT Properties)

expand event viewer and select application logs.

use the Time and Date reference to locate the exact time the error first occurred and see if there are any reports about anything bad happening immediately prior to the system crash (we're looking for something that froze up your system, prob hardware related). You can double-click the individual reports for more info.

chances are you will find nothing useful, but every now and again something helpful appears, so it's worth checking. Check the system log after the application log,
