Clubs

Clubs are the hub of community activity. Members can meet up and talk, argue, or compete with other clubs. They are only accessible online and you can only be a member of one club at a time. When you’re a member of a club, the club appears in green on the map.

Creating a Club

To create a club, you have to find a clubhouse on the map. Creating a club costs money and the price depends on the spot you choose. The only differences between clubhouses are their location and appearance.

Once you’re in a clubhouse, use the Create Club menu to enter information about the club you wish to create. You should enter:
- The name of the club, which has to be unique
- The minimum level required to join the club. Players who have not attained this level cannot join the club.
- The minimum Xbox Live reputation required; this prevents players with poor reputations from joining. (Not available for PC)
- The description of the club. A short optional text.

Once the information has been validated, the creation price is deducted from your funds.

Inviting Friends to Join a Club

To invite someone to join your club, a friend has to feature in your friend list. Go to your club interface and in the Management menu choose Invite. This will display your list of friends. A friend who appears in the list in red cannot be invited (you may, for example, have already sent him/her an invitation). If the name appears in gray, you may select the name and press A to send an invitation.

Once the invitation has been sent, an invitation-sent envelope icon appears next to his/her name. All you have to do now is wait for him/her to answer your invitation.

If people in your friends list are already members of a club, their club information is displayed to the right of their name. Press X for more detailed information, such as a description of the club, its location or membership list.

If a friend already belongs to a club, you can still send him/her an invitation. Your friend might leave his/her old club and join yours.

Joining a Club

When a friend sends you an invitation to join his/her club, you can view the invitation in the NEWS section of the INFO menu of the player’s clubhouse. You then have chance to accept or refuse the invitation.

It may be that joining the club is not possible, for example if the club is already full or if you are already member of a club. In the latter is the case, you will need to leave your existing club before accepting the invitation. The game will notify your existing club via a dialogue box.
You may also accept an invitation to a Club in the Join menu if you have no club. The invitation is indicated by an invitation-received icon to the right of the name of the player.

If you wish to join a friend’s club but your friend has not sent you an invitation, you can always send a request to join the club using the Join menu. He/she will receive a message to which they will then respond. If your request to join is accepted, you are immediately enrolled in the club. You will be sent a message informing you of the response, in any case.

In the Clubhouse

Once you’ve joined a club you can enter the clubhouse. A list of members currently in the clubhouse is displayed on the left of the screen. You can use voice channels to talk to these players.
Furthermore, the avatars of the club’s members are displayed in the clubhouse.

Club Management

The player who creates the club is the club’s president and can carry out different actions for the club using the Management menu accessible from the club. The club president can:
- Exclude members
- Hand over control and name another player as president
- Designate a vice president
- Close the club (“Delete”), thus excluding all members.
- Change the club’s manifesto or entry criteria.

The vice president can also exclude members.

All members in a club can invite friends to join a club.

Intra Club

The INTRA CLUB menu presents a list of all the club members and all the INTRA CLUB challenges that have been created. An INTRA CLUB challenge enables members of the same club to race off against each other. Only members of your own club can join these matches. The results of these matches only affect internal club rankings.

You can also use this menu to create an INTRA CLUB challenge. To do this, press A after you have selected CREATE GAME.

The map then appears enabling you to select your race circuit.

Then you will see a classic multi-player challenge creation screen.

Exiting the INTRA CLUB section, you will return to your club screen.

Inter Club

The INTER CLUB menu enables you to form groups of 2 to 4 player from your club in order to take on a group from another club. The results of these matches affect the position of your club in the world club rankings.
The first stage is to form a group. First you must access the INTER CLUB menu. Then:
- Create a group of members, if one does not already exist, or join the first non-complete group you find.
- Other members will see notification that you are waiting in the Inter Club menu to incite them to join you.

If your group is new, this menu remains red as long you are the only name in the menu. Only groups of 2-4 members can take part in an INTER CLUB match against an opposing club.

The menu turns green, when racing is possible, that is to say, when a second member joins the INTER CLUB roster.

If you then click on QUICK MATCH, the game will find you the first INTER CLUB match available. Or you can click on CUSTOM MATCH to view a list of available matches or create your own match.

If you click on CUSTOM GAME, you will see a list of INTER CLUB matches, which can be joined by selecting them. You may also choose to create your own INTER CLUB match and wait for another club to join you. The map will then appear offering you a choice of different routes which have been specially designed for a club vs. club showdown.

Only the player who has created the group can access the menus. The other players of the group can only wait for the procedure to come to an end and the match to start. When the “group president” is seeking or creating a match, you cannot join his group. If you click on INTER CLUB when the group is temporarily locked like this, or if the group is already full (4 players), then you should create your own group or join another one.

When the group president is in the middle of looking for or creating a challenge, the other players in his group will see the words "CHOOSING PARAMETERS" appear.

If you press B (the back button) during this phase, you might jeopardize the process.

When the group president has selected a challenge to join, or he/she has finished creating a challenge, the other members of the group can join the challenge in turn. This phase make take up to 30 seconds to complete, depending on the platform.

When a challenge has been created, you will have to wait in the INTER CLUB lobby until a rival club appears. The name of the club that created the challenge is displayed at the bottom left, whereas the name of the club joining the challenge is displayed in the center at the bottom (or the word “Waiting” will appear, if no rival club has yet come forward).

Once a club has joined a challenge, the host of the session can start the match, on the condition that at least 2 members of each club are present.

Exiting an INTER CLUB challenge will return you to your club.

Rankings

The RANKINGS page enables you to access two tables. The first gives the INTRA CLUB rankings, that is to say, the rankings among members of the same club.

The INTER CLUB table gives the world rankings of Test Drive Unlimited clubs.
