Sorry for not being able to understand French, I am only hoping that inforgrames takes more notice of this board than the english one!
The game though not bad has a lot of weaknesses, such as :-

Car Handling - they are not like a sim but more arcade like.

Realistic crashes - ummm no, can crash at 180mph into somenoe and get away with it, and drive around the wrong way and hit someone full on but not flip or crash to one side, those Eutechnyx boys are having a laugh.

Full Track - A second (in time) in the game is 1/2 a second in real life, therefore the circuit is not the full track, not bad on scale though apart from mulsane corner you know the diagonal bit.

Car Speeds - The sense of speed in the game is slow not like SCGT or TOCA2. And why have GT2 cars as fast as the GT1 and WSC, I thought the whole idea of the game was to obtain better cars and avoiding trouble in a GT2 would be fun.

Sound - Can anyone tell when to change gear by using the sound, thought not! Your car sound is too weak and there is no sense of high rev's.

Computer Cars - The game is so slow that it is easy to hold computer cars behind you by weaving across the track, and they don't avoid you if you drive the wrong way.

Flags - I have had a blue flag waving when I have been leading the race!?

Regards

Simon

PS I would like to hear some of your view seeing as the French Classic has been destroyed into this game.

Simon,

I agree with all your comments. I only wish software firms like Infogames would take on board that PC users are totally different to Playstation. We are not kids, we do not own toys. We expect more from our games. If I wanted an arcade game I would of purchased one of the Test Drive series of games, but no, as a fan of the 24 Hours race, and a visitor to the event for the last 4 years running. I was really looking forward to it.

Were on earth is the interior mirror in the in car view ? This is basic stuff..

And even more annoying, well the hell is the networking options as promised in previews.

I have email directly, but alas I have recieved no response.

All the best,

Julian Anderson

I am glad that there are real fans out there who dislike the game, okay it is good to race a scaled version of the track but the modern PC can do loads more. Lets hope infogrames get someone like Geoff Crommond (GP fame) to do Le Mans 2.
The games good points:-

Tyre wear and tyre grip get effected when you go off road.

A good variate of cars.

Night Driving and the lighting effects, nothing but fist class.

Weather conditions.

The Le Mans track - but a scaled version of it, doh!

The fireworks and flashlights, mmm wow! - better to have this than a real track length, I think not!

Simon

Disapointed but I will make do as it does give me a sense of being there, not quite as much fun as in 1988 or 1990 though!

The crash thing does seem a little silly, did they not see the Merc last year.

The lack of other things is disappointing, but although TOCA2 is very good TOCA 1 wasn't quite everything it should have been.

It's good to get to go round an almost complete Le Mans track, it would be nice to see more cars the roar of the crowd but hopefully in Le Mans 2........... Well GP3 isn't far off, this will keep me going till then.

As far as Graphic go, do you get a perfect white line down the side of the road????
