Has Le Mans been tested with Windows 2000 Pro? Does the game ship with the relevant DirectMedia/Indio versions?

I am sure it hasn't as the game still doesn't even have all it was supposed to have for WIN98.

And if you try it in WIN2Kaos, then you will get that ENUM error as probably the DX builtin is not the right version, or does not report the version needed by the game.

And as for WIN2Kaos, it is still not ready for prime time as far as games go, and unless you are a Beta Tester for a version of DX for NT (which I haven't heard if there is????), it problely won't run any games (in D3D) yet. Just look on a lot of newsgroups, you will see the same answers there, no joy http://www.infogrames.fr/ubb/frown.gif

Sorry but I'm not totally agree with you. I'm beta tester of Windows 2000 for several months and many games run very well (like Toca 2, Fifa 99 and many others D3D games). I recognize it isn't not very simple each time (modification in registry and so on) but it works. The main problem regards on games which detect Windows NT and don't want to run then. Shame for Win2K...

Hello, it's me again...
Yes, Le Mans run on Windows 2000 but only if you have a well-recognized video card (Woodoo for example). Don't try with NVidia products or Ati... Just wait for Windows 2000 official release...

Ok Nugit, I went to the link you suggested, and I eventually got the latest 3.75 WIN2K Detonator Drivers for the TNT card, and it works, sort of. SCGT will now play in WIN2K in D3D mode! But though the replays are fast (too fast???), if I try to drive in the game and the AI is involved, it slows to a crawl - the replays are faster cuz it is just a replay, no real AI involved.

As for LeMans, I can get as far as the game starting, and even get to the main menu!!! But after setting up the car and race, soon as I select to race, it drops me to the desktop without even an error message. Damn it all, cuz I want to play this game sooooooo bad!!!!!! Though some on the SCGT game blast LeMans, I have really begun to enjoy it (as long as I can till it crashes on Win98).

To be honest, . . . . I am beggining to think that games and software was MUCH BETTER in the good old DOS days, than the **** we have to go through with WinDOZE today! Ever watch a 386 bootup recently??? Compared to a top of the line PIII 500 or higher running either Win98, NT 4.X, or WIN2K, the 386 is up and running in a few seconds. Any WIN machine, even on the highest CPU, and you can go and get a cup of coffee a block away! Hell, a WIN PC boots as SLOW as an old XT did!!!!!!!
