Some people have reported slowing downs in the game Le Mans, although they had the latest drivers for their video boards and high frequency CPUs.
One of the most famous and able member of these forums ;-)) faced a similar problem, and noticed that it had something to do with his control device when it was connected to the soundcard port. When connecting the wheel to a USB port, the slowing downs seem to disappear.
If you happen to meet this type of problem, have a go with this tip.
