If you have a router then you will have to forward some ports, or if u use your machine for gaming mainly, then enable the DMZ for your computer on the router.

i have already tryed to put DMZ ON but it whont work

and when there are multiply people behind 1 router they can only have 1 person at a time playing online ?

Right try this, open a dos prompt and type in tracert www.gamespy.com and see what happens

do u get normal access to the internet?

and u can allow more ppl behind the router to play even with DMZ set, u just configure the ports to the comps local ip, like normal.

Have u configured the DMZ correctly, as in to your local machine?

Disable any router firewall aswell, for checking to see if u can reach the network etc...

yes, the trace works completely with 25 steps to 216.35.19.179 as the last one, so being www.gamespy.com.

But when I would use the forwarding of ports to one pc and say my brother would want to play on-line, too, I suppose that's not possible? We should use different ports actually, but I dobn;t think the ports are possible to be set manually? Btw I don;t believe the trick is in the forwarding of ports, I can play other on-line games without any problems... Ofcourse when I want to set up a server i need to forward ports, but I'm not really doing that with this game am I?

Greetings

no not really, but it is good practice to forward ports tot he appropriate pc if you are behind a router for all games, since routers are notoriously fickle with games.

Right if u can get a trace route to the gamespy website, then you should be able to connect to the game servers, this would suggest something is blocking the connection, possibly a firewall, or router, i believe the manual or the readme file gives the ports required to be open.

And regarding two pcs, yes it probably wont be possible to have both online playing the same game, you are using the same external IP. You should of course be able to play diff games, if they use diff ports though. Although many games support multi connections on the same ip, not sure about tDU though, if TDU supports a port range, then you probably can both play online etc..

Unfortunately sometimes its impossible to connect to tdu servers at all, whatever You do. Maybe Atari will fix it or maybe not, so far I didn't see any response from Atari regarding this problem. You can try to create multiple accounts with different nick names, some people say it helps sometimes. It didn't work for me. I have tried all suggestions that I found on web (non of them came from Atari of course...) and now "the patch" is my only hope.
