When playing the game I have a few issues, sometimes straight away but sometimes it takes a while berfore they start. List Below:

Crashing out of game back to the Desktop but is still running so can go back in but generally get graphical artifacts or poor performance. I have tried it with Zone Alarm Security Suite 7 shutdown and this seems to fix it but would prefer to have it up while playing.

General poor performance.

Any car on screen including my own or other players start randomly jumping around the screen. The traffic acts as if I have hit them then start jumping round. Mine starts jumping round and does not handle as well or go as fast.

Occasionally when I start the game and leave the house most things other then the wheels of the car appear invisible.

I have experienced corrupt saved games but this should be fixed in the patch as far as I know.

Audio going funny.

Can anyone provide me with details of what is going on or if others experience these problems. Will the patch fix these these issues?

If anyone can give insight on this it would be much appreciated. mdr1
Are there any others known issues I should look out for?

Some of the problems could be assosiated to my PC being under spec, particularly my PSU under powering the PC (mainly Video Card). See Specs below and tell me what you think.

OS: Windows XP Pro with SP2
Brand: HP Compaq Presario
Motherboard: Nvidia Nforce 430
CPU: AMD 64 x2 4200+ 2.2 Ghz Dual Core
RAM: 2GB DDR2 4200, 533Mhz
Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200 Sata 2 250GB
DVD Drive: Lightscribe High Speed Dual layer DVDR-RW
Audio: Onborad Realtek ALC658 Digital with Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound
Video Card: Nvidia Geforce 7600GS 512MB Pci-e
PSU: Bestec - 300watts, 19A 12v rail
Monitor: BenQ 19" LCD, 2ms Response Time
Also using a Powerwave USB Gamepad based on the XBox 360 controller but I was having these issues before I got it.

Please provide feedback.

One last thing though I have seen conflicting things about it but when does the patch come out? And where can I get it from when it does?

Sounds like your PSU is either struggling or on its way out. It could also be your graphics card.

There are sound problems in the game but that could also be another sign of the PSU not coping.

Im 90% sure the patch wont fix what you are experiencing, only new components will do that.

Hi,

in bold above re PSU, concur. Get a decent make of the highest output you can afford (550 best). It will pay you back tenfold.

I also was getting the same problems with Zonealarm suite and was not going to run with it down. It is known to be flaky but there is a newer version just out. It is supposed to be for Vista but does support the other Win OS's as well. Fortunately I now have a wireless network and so just use the router's hardware firewall and can dispense with Zonealarm. I have had very few problems the same as you listed since that time. Sorry can't help more but hope you find a workaround.

I've got the similar problems in TDU

- Crash to desktop but the TDU process still running, unable to restore it. Reboot the computer resolve this error.

- Sometimes when I start the game and leave the garage wheels of the car appear invisible or turn in all directions, doors open/close quickly, sometimes i only see a black screen but HUD / Menu are visible. Reboot the computer solve the problem.

- On the road, traffic's cars jumping too.

Conclusion: I notice that TDU become unstable when i play other games before, reboot the computer solve all error, so i think the game need a patch, i try every drivers for my graphic card and on a fresh install of Windows XP 64-Bit... No way same problems, i never see this during the BETA test only on the Retail version.

PC Specs:

2x ATI X1800XT in Crossfire
ATI Catalyst 7.3 (CF Fix) / 7.4 / 7.5 / 7.6 tested
AMD Opteron 170
Mobo DFI LANPARTY RDX200 CF-DR
PSU OCZ Powerstream 520W
DirectX 9.0c (June 2007)

From what I understand having a AMD Athlon 64 x2 processor means that your system is a 64 Bit system?

I currently have a 32 bit install of XP Pro SP2, could this cause any problems for me with gaming or anything else?

Would using a 64 bit OS improve my PC's stability and/or performance?

Do games still work properly on a 64 bit system or even improve the performance of the game?

The issue will be, getting the drivers but that should not be hard.

I am looking at getting a 650w SLI PSU so if there is an issue with this it won't matter as of next week.

My Video card is brand new and actually has better performance then it generally should as I still gets a decent FPS in Oblivion at medium to high settings with 8x anisotropic filtering and 4x AA at 1024 resolution.

But I am thinking that it is TDU that has the problems as Oblivion and NFS Carbon work fine with and (as you can see above) has good performance.

I would like a SLI system but it is hard to find a micro ATX mainboard.
Could someone help in this respect?

I currently have a 32 bit install of XP Pro SP2, could this cause any problems for me with gaming or anything else? Nope - AMDs are fully either 32bit or 64 bit - when running in 32bit mode they are 100% 32bit.

Would using a 64 bit OS improve my PC's stability and/or performance?General PC stability might be better on a 64bit OS, but it won't improve game stability or performance.

Do games still work properly on a 64 bit system or even improve the performance of the game? Most games don't support 64bit XP, but 64bit Vista is usually supported, however you then get all the problems with Vista :p Performance isn't usually improved.

Did you try the latest drivers from http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors...1_13118,00.html (and the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer)
and the microsoft patch for dual-core cpus that is found here :
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=896256 ?
sidenote: those links are taken from the Readme.htm file in the tdu directory

Both AMD 64 x2 4200+ & AMD Opteron 170 are dual core, so if above is not yet installed, that would prolly be the prob. (I had similar problems with my x2 and that stuff solved the prob for me)

In case it doesn't make a difference, try to set the affinity of the tdu process to one core.

These are all known issues with Nvidia cards.

To overcome the graphical issues either:

1. Go into the video options, change a setting and exit without saving

2. Use control-alt-delete to exit to desktop then go back into TDU. Repeat until TDU is running correctly (usually a maximum of 2 times).

There is a sticky on this forum which mentions these glitches.
