I'm thinking about doing this.

22inch TFT widescreens are on ebuyer for £150-200

Is it worth it though?

yea dude, 17 inch is tiny i had one before then i moved to 19 inch, then that was too small soo then i got 30 inch widescreen and its perfect.

u can get a 22 inch for a good price from newegg or dell

Make sure your videocard is powerfull enough to run 1680x1050 without having to set everything low.

Depends what resolution does it get, will your games run on your pc at that resolution, is it modern and gamer freindly, can you afford it, do you want a bigger screen.

Personaly i would i had a triniton 21inch and it died, brill resolution and flat screened. Due to budget restrictions now have a samsung flat panel lcd and miss the really large resolution and screen size.... once i've finished with the inside of the pc, and gotten a g25 the monitor is my next thing to sort out... though i don't know if i want a wide screen though.. let me know what you do and the verdict please...

I would in my opinion, my brother just recently got this one Samsung 22" Widescreen (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-050-SA&groupid=17&catid=510&subcat=) and the quality of the image is brilliant also watching movies on it are fantastic. Most reviews are pretty good and it looks amazing :).

I have a Samsung SyncMaster BW226 (1680x1050 wide screen 22") and it is the best flat screen i have ever used, it's fast 2MS and have dynamic contrast 3000:1

Thanks all.

On the face of it - it seems like a very moderate increase in the visible screeen size for the cash, but I guess the widescreen will be much better for something like TDU
