I've tried out the editor - and it just won't work.

The editor does work... The only thing is that unfortunately you cannot change a single feature in a player or team. You need to re build the entire team with the new characteristics and delete the former. http://www.fr.infogrames.com/ubb/wink.gif

The editor just don't work, when I try to change a player's nationality for instance, there is no list of countries available, it shows a few gibrish lines and that's it.

To Totti :

When i choose the scrolling menu for nationalities, i get a list of various countries... For instance, i chose a brazilian player and turned him into a japanese... Why you're getting strange characters when you re selecting this menu, i have no idea... Have a look by your video drivers.

To Gamma :

To add a new player in a team : select the country, the team, choose modify and type all the informations related to the player (name, age...). Press Ok to return to the previous screen , and click the save key. There you will be asked questions (namely "do you want to replace the former file?"). Choose yes until no further questions are asked.

You now can look in the list to see that the new player has been added.

I'm sure it's not my video driver, they never have problems so far, and a list of countries to display doesn't seem like much of a task.

Maybe you can send it to me by E-mail/ICQ? I'd appericiate it alot, since I want to create my own league.

Indeed Totti, it is not at all that a task, that's why i don't know why it doesn't appear in your editor.

I guess that all other fields appear correctly? Did you try to install the game again?

Did you want me to send you the list of all countries? There are so many...

If possible, I would really love it if you could e-mail me the data files, maybe if I try replacing them with the ones installed it'll work?

I tried re-installing, no luck with that.

Please send. thanks.

Neo, if your editor is a newer version than 1, 0, 0, 1 (or something like that), with a 14-4-2000 time stamp, would you mind to mail it to me?

Ok, i'll check it out, but i 'm don't think that there are several versions for the editor. http://www.fr.infogrames.com/ubb/wink.gif

3 files are updated when you modify the datebase : Data.bin, FirstNames.dat and LastNames.dat

I zipped them <A HREF="ftp://ftp.download-center.com/pub/download/fr_infogrames_com/patches/fichiers/UEFAManager2000/database.zip">Available Here</A> (984ko)

Unzip and try replacing your files with these.

The Autorun and Editor does not work in Windows 98 system but works fine in Windows NT 4 Workstation (the game does not run because of the DirectX)

For any game work in Windows NT it would need the Service Pack 4, but some games refuse to work.

Maybe it had been an idea if Infogrames (or whoever really) made a description of the data.bin fileformat so people easily could make their own editors.

And one more thing, while surfing through the data files in UEFA manager I noticed that it had a own directory called ScenarioData which had a dir called SinkingShip. I didn't investigae the files very closely (they looked like savegame files), but is it possible to make own scenarios for us? It had been interesting indeed....
