hi. ive installed the game but when i try to play it comes up with a small black box and then another box infront of it titled "DirectX 9 - graphics system layer 1.00" and below it says "unable to initiate DirectX 9 device, there's a problem with your system configuration" but it doesnt tell me what problem. i have an XP which is about 3 years old, so i cant see why it wont work?

its an:

operating system:XP home edition (5.1, build 2600)
System model: Dimension 4700
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS version 1.10 A02
Processor: Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80Ghz (2 CPU's)
DirectX version 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)

i have it on 32-bit colour and the resolution is 1024x768
ive tried so many different things, but it makes no difference. please help
(the other thing is i own tycoon city new york, whcih has the same system requirements on the back as crash day, and its also made by atari)

sounds to me that there maybe an issue with the graphics card you using or that you need to reinstall directx 9


try reinstalling directx 9 and if you still have the problem the graphics card would be my next upgrade

ive tried reinstalling DirectX 9 but theres no difference. i dont think its the graphics card as as tycoon city needs the exact same requirements, so why that works and crashday doesnt i dont know

have you tried installing the new patch for it noticed a big difference with my g force card

Its a Dell so its probably onboard graphics...... eekblue: :nono:
