We don't do formal try-outs, we just ask folks to ride with us so you get a feel for how we (try) and do things whilst we get a feel for how you do things :)

We didn't plan on being a hardcore-only setup, but it's sort of worked out that way! It's probably the only thing we'll insist on now.

Feel free to post away or talk to the regulars in-game if you see them. We don't really have a formal command structure, but these guys could be considered to be "official" decision-makers on the club's behalf:

I dont mind a second FNS at all coz there are many nice guys out there. Its important for us (FNS 1) to have a club limit. I heard of "16" yesterday when PZ told a noob to leave our group. It sucks that there is a 8 people limit in game but we should be able to work that out.

Quickest ways are either to do a lot of the car delivery missions (doing them perfect gives an extra $40,000 or so each run!) or to do the 170mph in traffic run along the south coast, $15,000 per go. The speed one works out faster but it is very very very boring eekblue: weirdblue eekblue:

I've done both ways to get a good few million stacked up, I preferred the deliveries since they are more of a challenge but they are slower overall and you can only do them once. Also, they help get a few more points towards champion if you do them all :)

The problem is that those car delivery ones are so incredibly boring as well. If you try to do them perfect, you need to drive quite slowly. And this becomes incredibly tiresome. Think about it- driving a car at 60-70 MPH in 1st or 2nd gear all the time. So if you had to go 20 miles, it would take you 20 minutes! And you need to be so incredibly careful. And this is why I fail at a lot of them, and have to keep repeating them- I try to go quicker, and go off or hit another car. So I don't get perfect, and I lose a lot of money.

Dude ALWAYS finish perfect. Think about it: You do two 90.000 missions and you get 45.000 EACH for finishing perfect. Calculate that by 30 and you get 1.350.000 $ (I know that there are 80.000 and 99.999 $ missions). Just dont be lazy and aware of traffic crashes and invest 20-25 minutes on 1 good mission instead finishing them in 15 but not getting full price. I'd understand if you didnt want to finish all the Hitchhikers or Models on perfect (I did all on perfect coz Im a freak) but the car missions are only (after all) awesome if they were done perfectly.. :salut2:

Thanks, but may I just point out that the maximum amount of money you can get from doing all of the car transport missions is more like $4,050,000. So yes, I'm going to do them all perfectly. But I can only do the ones that I have found. Can anyone help me find all of them?

I finished up on Champ level last night. And it was mostly to do with cash! Big wodges of it. I did every car delivery mission and made enough to buy 2 extra Astons last night just to edge me into Champ level. And without having to do that Round The Island race too!!! Only car-owning I've not completed is the Three Fords.

Must say I enjoyed the car delivery missions as well. In a game where driving with care lasts oooohh... About five minutes after installing it makes a nice change to have to overtake carefully, stop at red-lights, take notice of what's at a junction etc... It hones your driving skills wonderfully and makes going to do some of the other fast missions a lot easier. I also manage to get over 100mph (140mph+ in a couple) and third or fourth gear in most of them too. Just make sure you know what's ahead... Overtake with care and jump lights only when you've SEEN the coast is clear.

On another tack, another great way to make cash is the Courier missions. A lot of those give $60,000 on completion.

I reached Champ by going Level three on races etc, level 4 on Courier, Car Delivery etc, 10 Ben Shermans and that other clothes place and mileage. Don't need a lot more than that to be honest. Oh, the usual 2 houses, 20 cars, 3 bikes etc... the easy stuff basically.

Cheers PW. I rather miss my old Stage 3 tuned BRG E-Type. I suppose now that I can clock up the 180mph trick at champ level for $75000 a time I can afford just about anything again, and the E-Type may well be in one of my garages before too long.

Interested to hear what you said though as when I was playing in my last incarnation I much preferred the E-Type to the Miura when I had them. Indeed, the E-Type had hundreds of miles on the clock compared to the Miura's pitiful 20 or so. Of course this wasn't in HC mode... So Is the E-Type more of a handful than the exceptionally tail-happy Miura?

Must admit, I was quite enjoying teh Miura last night once I'd got past 1st gear that is. Heavy right foot...

Sorry for not being that active this weekend ive been a bit busy. Im still having trouble in coming anywhere near Panzer or Kittens time in the rally. My TVR is 10-20MPH slower on the straight so guess I gotta get used to the Farbound quickly!

I have an E-Type but have never driven it in normal mode. It (to me anyway) is totally opposite to the Miura. Sooooo much understeer and all-round lack of grip - it just left me completely cold.

I love the Miura's "feel" and the way - even on a joypad - it communicates with you as you brake / turn / apply throttle, whatever. I love being able to give the rear wheels a little bit of a squirt mid-corner to counteract some understeer, or lift off a touch and feel the whole car come back into balance almsot instantly.

I love the fact that it will bite you in the bum if you take the mickey out of it and that, if you respect it, it is great fun to drive and drive quickly.

Perhaps I love it because it's the G class that acts like a Noble :)

Honestly I wouldnt mind having another G cruise tonight coz I want to get to know the Miura a bit better. I'd like to drive my favourite car (Ford GT) tonight though..
Biggest prob will be the 8 player limit. On a random cruise we have done the las weeks there were only room for me, Walrus, Beef, Stiggles, Grouse, Fox + 2 random people. Now, there are also new players like Kitten or Denkou who had some cruises during the last days so there hardly will be room for all of us...

We all need to ensure that we are all on each others' friends lists. This will let us see all members of FNS, not just "1" or "2".

Might take some time (and luck), but will make things better for everyone in the long term. We could even accomdate totally different activities on any given night with "advertising" posts on both FNS threads.

I didn't want to crowd him out as I'd not said I was coming along. LOL! There's something to be said about all out freeway speeding, but to be honest I prefer the twisty stuff. It may be bloody hard work, and constant crashing can be infuriating, but getting a twisty section right in HC is SO rewarding! I like the mountain pass, but for me I prefer the in-betweeny stuff, straights and S-bend combos... Something to make you think. Trouble with the pass is that I'm not quite there yet, 20mph blind corners just aren't great fun... Yet.

Mind you, it's good to see you lot going through them. I think maybe the Ford GT was the wrong car for my second HC attempt.

Welcome to FNS2 all. Level really doesn't matter so much as driving attitude. We like to cuise in HC mode which only comes at Champ level, but as long as you drive in a (fairly) mature way and enjoy driving rather than barging other people around and showing off, you're more than welcome.

hehe, my main cruising cars are the lambo miura, shelby gt500 and ofcourse my favourite the lotus esprit which i was in today. Sometimes use the fast cars but damn you really have to control the throttle on HC mode

Don't be put off by bad server connectivity - if there's 8 players in the same zone (and you don't always see 8 on the map) then you can't sync in.

If you see me pootling about on my own, jump in and say Hi :)

I'll happily take some of the FNS2 recruits on a full-on Miura cruise unless, of course, you fancy the acid test (oops, I meant fun fun fun) of the Sharks Cove or Kelekole pass hairpin runs in hardcore mode with no driving aids :) Wugz has a new profile to work on ATM.

No aids is an essential guys, hardcore or not. Aids are for SP event rankings.

Why don't you try out the FNS HC Rally Stages that appear every few days in the diner? HArdcore mode, no aids please.

Just got used to cruising in HC mode. Not going near manual clutch though as i dont have a g25. A button clutch is too confuddling

Blimey! It all got very busy here whilst I was away last night. Sorry I've not said hello earlier but it was all a bit hectic.

Got home and turned on the computer only for it to fail continually to find boot sectors! :mad: :mad:

Turns out my second HDD was acting up so I had to work around that and get all the info off in case it gave up the ghost. Well that took hours on end so I was chatting with Beef and Senn whilst getting that going... Then daughter turned up and took me up to the pub for the quiz night! Hard drives still churning when I got back... In fact they were still churning away when I left for work this morning. Hopefully all will be finished by the time I get home this evening.

Worse scenario is I lose a downloads store, flight sim scenery installation and some photos that I already have backed up on DVD... TDU is on the main drive.

Anyway, I hope to be somewhere on Oahu this evening. If you see me round, give me a wave,

Well I'm happy to say that yesterday I reached the champion level, and thus can access Harcdore mode. I'm still getting used to it. But if you don't mind, allow me to propose the idea of an FNS (both 1 and 2) XFire group. I know that we can all add each other as friends, but making such a group would be quite beneficial to both of the FNS clubs.

Let's set the Miura run up for Friday night. Let's say 9pm at the clubhouse, priority to FNS2 folks. Just be advised that I always take corners and curves at 100% when cruising in hardcore - I don't go flat out down the straights, but I get my buzz from taking as good a line and speed as I can in the bends.

I really should take a night away from TDU and the PC, my daughter decided that she wasn't going to finally settle to sleep until 4am this morning. She did sleep from 7 - 11.20pm and of course the problems started just as I was thinking about going to bed soon..........

Well that looked like a good old cruise last night. I did try a couple of times to synch but it looked pretty full. In te end I decided to make it a night of missions. Kinda figured out how to make quite good quality tdu videos ( well much better than youtube ). Heres just my first video, not that great but its more of a test than anything.

Sory about Friday. I got muscle spasm in my neck on the drive home Friday evening, which resulted in not being able to move my neck pretty much whatsoever for 2 days, along with migraines from the referred muscle pain.

The radio show is nothing to do with us, Dj_faceplant gives us a shout out on his radio show at teasefm.com.

And FNS2 is a part of FNS... made up of two parts because there is a 16 player limit in each club and we exceeded that so we created another called FNS2. Both are essentially the same club.
