Very simple, idea came from me seeing only one person in online play yesterday.

Tons.. more since the patch. I don't see them on the map as much, but just driving around I usually see 4-6 people all the time.

Well, I managed to finally get my computer with TDU online yesterday (don't ask me how, it's quite complicated), I created a brand new online profile, I saw several people on the map, but I really only saw one person in free ride.

The island is a very big place, and it can come and go depending on time of day :)

Try heading to the lighthouse in the NW, or the track, or the town where you have the first house etc.

Well, being a new online profile, I haven't gotten very far with it. I did manage to get to 'Pro' reasonably quickly, and my favourite car is my 3-stage tuned Maserati GranSport. But I saw people on the map, but not in the game.

EDIT: I've just decided that I'm not going to rush to do the challenges, and play the game as it should be played- cruise around and have some fun. Trouble is, I don't have any in-game friends. Would anyone care to help me out here?

Almost everyone in game is friendly - you don't need to have added them to your friends list ahead of time. If someone is just riding around just pop up a quick question and ask if they'd like to cruise for a bit - if they're in a hurry to get somewhere they might say another time, but in most cases I'm sure people would be more than happy to cruise with you :)

See, I don't have any friends in-game either, so really wanna help you out. So we should try to meet in-game. When are you online?

Couldn't tell you. It really depends.

I'm about to go online again. I hope I'll find some people.

I can see loads of people online.
But I have a problem: I can only ever see one person at a time without 'connection problems' If I go to the map and come back though, the person who isn't lagging changes.
I'm taking a guess that I need to open up some ports on my router, but which ones? Could anybody help here, it's a BT Home Hub (lol, yes, I know...). But I can open ports on it easily enough, I just need to know which ones TDU uses. rolleyesa

I see people online and driving around all the time - but since the patch no one is showing up on my map.

I'm lucky if I get connected to four people every half hour, and, if I do connect to these four people its most likely that two of them are AFK or have a connection problem. This is worse than what I got before the patch. Before the patch I was constantly connected to people.

I tend to see the people I race with most frequently, along with tons of stragglers :)

Yes but I try to stay to myself or only cruise with the people who are on my friends list or are fellow club members. If you see me around come over to say G'day, I might even try to give you a car

I generally see quite a few people, have to wait a few seconds for it to update though.

I just wish there was an easier way to get into a random cruise. Sometimes, I join for 30mins or so and wish there was a particular spot or two where you could drive to and the server would lump lots of you together (even append you to one in progress) for quick pick up and play cruising.

If you zoom out on your map untill you can see the whole island you'll see some white to red mist on some parts of the island. It indicates where the player density is largest. Usually Honolulu/crater south of Honolulu, and the parking at the northwest tip of the isle has the largest playerdensity. Usually you'll have players popping up the quickest in those hotspots. Clicking on a random player in these hotspots often leads to you having 6-8 people on your gps just a few seconds after you clicked.

See people on map, but not when I host a game. However there are always at the race track messing around.
