It's getting close, and still no talk about a delay! I'm so excited! Maybe this board will start seeing little bit of activity soon.

Hi there :salut2:
Welcome to the UK forums.. :atari:
At this moment, we have no confirmed date for release in the UK (or Europe). :noooo:
I have no idea what happening in the US, perhaps you will get more information here (http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=499). :respect:
Atari are really messing up the public relations on this one. First rule of thumb is you don't give people delivery dates then keep missing them. If you aren't sure, then put TBA. Don't keep switching. Different sites are giving different release dates, so someone is getting them from somewhere, although probably thin air in the case of retailers.
I expected to get this game before I emigrated. I've now been on the other side of the planet (New Zealand) for over two months and I still have no idea when it is coming out here, let alone in the UK. Instead of spurious date revisions all the time, would it not be better to change the date on Atari's site to TBA, then give an official release date?
I'll tell you who Atari's should emulate. Bioware. For their D&D related games, they kept fans updated, told them when the game went gold, everything. They also let people know what the game system was gonna be like, how characters would be built, what items/spells/feats, etc were available, rather than justa few pictures of screenshots and poor descriptions of creatures in the game.
Get a clue, Atari. D&D players want the numbers. Even if they are obfuscated during gameplay, you don't play D&D if you are afraid of the details!
*breathes*
Rant over.
I'm sure it will be great.
Eventually.
Whatever...

 I guess I was mistaken. I went ahead and posted my rant on the U.S. forum and am not wasting the energy repeating it. My dissapointment is immeasurable

As far as I know what you're asking for is what's happening - there is no release date in the UK yet.
As for missed dates, unfortunately that happens in the world of game development very often - I'd say the times it doesn't happen is actually much rarer than the times it does. Two weeks is nothing if that's all the delay is.

If you actually believe the release date at this point is what is being told to you, I've got a bridge to sell you.

Well I've talked to the guy that runs my local shop and swap game store and worked out an arrangement with him to be notified when he gets his first used one in. Unless when you all put this into your psp's Publishers Clearing House pulls up to your houses and starts handing out million dollar checks I will not buy this game new. I have DDO to occupy my videogame D&D needs, and my bi-weekly pnp game as well. I hope Atari pushes it back again, they are already going head to head with Madden 08 for the video gaming dollar that will be spent on Aug 14th and if they push back much further will be releasing along with or behind Monster Hunter Freedom 2. I'm no marketing major, but am pretty sure that a summer release behind that title would GREATLY reduce the number of copies sold to the non-D&D gaming world. In fact that is when (if the release holds at the 14th, yeah right.) I expect I will be getting my used copy because of all the trade in's that will be coming in to pay for it. If any of you have any self controll at all, and have really been as upset by all this as you say, then I recommend you exercise some patience and wait a week or 2 to purchase a used copy. You know it will be too complex a game for your average 15 minuite attention spanned teen, and copies will make their way back to the stores in about that time frame. I know that this isn't going to happen often enough to make a difference though because there are too many entertainment starved sheeple that have been programmed by the goverment to be unquestioning mindless consumers unable to controll their compulsory spending habits. Atari's obvious knowledge of this inability by the masses to show restraint with their dollar is the reason for their lack of compasion towards your feelings about this. I say NO MORE!

Nope - you've missed the several other release changes over the past several months. And the release dates are posted on the Atari sites around the world, as well as with all major online retailers. Its true that there is now no longer an official release date bing given out in the UK, but that's kinda meaningless since retailers were previously primed for a given date, and are now backpedallng because even they don't know what is going on.
I think the main point in my last posting is that, unlike a lot of companies who have developed DnD games, Kuju and Atari have been very weak at keeping people informed.
Oh, and B_Notorious's rants on the US forum are worth a read. Much amusement. He's right about marketing, they've missed the slot and are gonna have problems now because of other game releases and school term times.
Unfortunately there is little that can be done when the game development doesn't quite meet deadlines. Nobody's fault, developers do their best.
The important thing is that you'll enjoy it :)

Yes it is somebody(ies) fault Mole, and you know it. Its the fault of the project management team for failing to put together an adequate plan that includes a well assessed risk allotment, and a failure of the same management to manage the expectation of their clients.
I won't insult to posters of this site by making statement like "Don't assume everyone who posts on these forums is a niaive kid", because in the short while I've been posting here I can see that isn't the case.
Please avoid the bland and meaningless non-apologies.

Fogey, I'm not a developer but I've been working very closely with developers both in games and in commercial environments for a fair number of years. As you're not a naive kid, you know that development is work in progress and sometimes you end up stuck with things that on paper look straight forward, in practice they're far more time consuming than expected. No point in indulging in any blaming game, once development is stuck, for whatever reason, the only thing that can be done, on all levels, is trying to get over the issues. Nobody has any interest in delaying releases for obvious reasons - developers hate it, publishers hate it. I, as the UK product manager, hate it. On the other hand, I wouldn't put pressure to release something below expectations and specs.

Release dates are always slightly fluid things, with nothing certain until the game is on the shelves. I am waiting patiently for it to hit, and I'm hoping that one of the reasons for the delay might be that some extra features are being put into the title. I know, chances are that's not the case, but you never know.
It's a shame that no-one voted or spoke up when we were offered a playtest, but missing a release date opens the comments floodgates.

What is stopping you from getting one?
I just hope it is coming on the day they announced it.

Money, time, and the fact D&D tactics is the only game I'd want for it, so it's a bit expensive for just one game
I'm *almost* persuaded to get a DS, but they don't have DDT for the DS
