Hello All,

I've got a mate who is trying to sell me a nvidia-geforce-6600-le for £25 - £30. I was looking at a few reviews and this review put it down BUT they where using 1024 x 768 and getting 13 Fps BUT i'm using 800 x 600. I also noticed that it was recomended on the Box.

And my second question is, Is that card a AGP becuase my motherboard only holds AGPs

Thanks,

Woz

Well I'm not sure want you want us to tell you : a 6600LE to play tdu @ 800x600 is a waste of money if you ask me. You should try to get at least a 6800GT, I had one before my 8800GTS and I could play TDU @ 1024x760 and it was alright, not beautiful, but I had good FPS. Also you should be able to find a 6800GT for not much money on ebay, maybe even a 7 series, I don't know your budget though...

For the second question : like the previous poster said, ask your mate ;)

Well to be honest read the back of your TDU cover ;) You'll notice Atari actually recoemmned the 6600 GT so LE cant be that much difference.

Well there is a difference between a LE and a GT. Besides, they recommend it for the minimal requirements...like I said, with a 6800GT it was ok but without AA or any other options. Now if you don't care about graphics at all (which would be weird :p) go for your 6600LE, but I would recommend at least a 6800GT. It's never too good to be at the minimal requirements anyway :p

the 7600Gs is a good card runs tdu on my pc at around 25-33 fps

the Gt is a better card and i would go for that take a look at comparisons and check the clock speeds

and the memory is better in the GT that uses GDDR3 whereas the GS uses ddr2

http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics.html use this site to compare performance globaly.

but gives a good indication to see what card is faster also in diff. series

at the moment i am using a 7900GS witch run TDU on 1680x1050 and i get 40fps. when u lower the res to about 1280x768 i get around 80fps. so it will run TDU very well and probebly BF2. have alook around ebay u should find one. not sure about the price i bought mine in janurary
