Got the Game Saturday.

Had to start the game over as I only created 5 members. Now have 6. Is there a limit on how many party members?

First 2 levels where fairly easy but Having trouble in the Forest's, especially the Werewolves. Can't seem to hit a thing. My party is level 5 so should be ok but don't seem to hit very often and only for 1 or 2 points when attacking and hardly hit with ranged weapons. Got the fireball spell for my wizard but seems to do very little damage when I know it should do more

H Paladin, Half elf Ranger, H Fighter, H Cleric, H Wizard and halfling Rogue.

I'll keep trying to save the woman before she is killed :bravo:

Now up to level 9 and some things I have found out.

You need magic + weapons or you don't hit very often or for much damage.
Spell casters need to use the "Feats", cast without hands, extended spell range, cast silent.

Silver arrows/bolts don't instant kill werewolves.

Watch out for the monk wizards at the old monestry!! They kick serious butt with spells

Issue with spell casting. If you use fireball spell and aim at a square that can't be seen by the wizard it releases the spell on the square the wizard is standing in and will hit all your party if they are within blast range. Target very carefully!!

Latest update.

Mindflayers. Can't hit them most of the time :hin: 90% resistant to magic spells so no fireball or magic missiles then!! Kill instantly and generally just stand there and demolish all 6 of my characters.

Starting to get very frustrated with the game as I have come to the point where you can go three ways and each way is really tuff. The mindflayer's though are almost un-killable. They appear in 2 of the 3 locations, the monestry is just wizard city. agghh

I would really like to know how many characters you can create at the begining of the game as I think I will need more than 6 and try and train them all up if possible by switching them for different locations.

I've got a feeling I am going to have to start again and create a different party and include a psionic this time.

Lots of views but no comments. Anybody else actually playing the game :mefiant:

Sorry - keen D&Der here, but no PSP to play it on :(

Mind-flayers are nasty in the pen and paper game as well, we would generally just run as fast as we could when we found one - guess that doesn't help in this game

I don't know how psionics is done in the game - you might be able to use a psion to help counter against the ilithid. Otherwise change your spell memorisations and instead of using offensive magic (useless because of SR) use it to buff up your own fighters.

Mind Flayers are a real pain, by far the hardest creatures in the game I have encountered and thats incliding beholders and dracoliches. The only tactic I can suggest is to cast as much protective enhancements on your fighters as possible but ensure your cast Free Action/Movement on them - this prevents the mind flayers from grappling them and killing them instantly.

Then all you need do is keep hitting them until they die. Easier said then done. :atari:

I had the same problem with the fireball spell until you realise that it works slightly different from most other offensive magics. :nono: Not only do you need to be able to see the target square but also have a completely unobstructed path between the caster and the target, otherwise the spell detonates as soon as it hits any obstacle - including other party members.

The best option is to move the caster to the front, fire the spell, then move everyone past to protect them.

Hope that helps. :)
