Finally finished the game today and I must say I was disappointed by the final battle. Considering everything you have to get past to reach the boss, I managed to complete the fight without the dragon even getting one attack.
I also did not understand the point of putting chests around the level when the equipment would, at that point, be more or less useless.
However all in all I enjoyed the game thoroughly. I really do hope there will be expansions for it as I feel the game could be expanded in many different ways and different game worlds (who would love to play in the Ravenloft or Dragonlance settings?).
Anyway, good work Atari and hopefully you'll be able to release some form of expansion sooner rather than later. :atari:
Now I think I'll try an evil campaign. :guns:
Thanks for your comments, mal969. How would you rate the game out of 10?
A solid 8/10 :) for being so true to the RPG itself. I've been a gamer for over 20 years now and it is one of the better renditions I've played.
Other than the minor gripes I mentioned I have thought about some other features which could have been incorporated or could be incorporated into expansions or future versions:
1. specialist classes, like the arcane archer would be a great touch;
2. random encounters, not only monsters but caravans and merchants selling unique or rare items;
3. additional feats such as great cleave (who wouldn't enjoy just wading through hordes of goblins); and
4. lateral adventuring where side quests could be undertaken which have no link to the main quest at hand. These could even have time limits which if not started by a certain point in the game they disappear for good.
All in all a good start and I hope a platform for expansion in the future.
I will certainly pass on your comments :)

I'm up-to level 17-18 and agree with the above. Also when you get the chance to destroy the elves or save them if you go the other way and start ACT2 it then closes these options down. I don't know if this is a glitch in the game as the wizard school is still there but not the side quests.
The point about random encounters is a big plus I feel and would let you gain a level or two if your having trouble, I.E. me and mindflayers :)
The game is very good and reminds me of the old PC Dragonlance games of the early 90's. I still have them on CD but my computer won't play them. :mad:
My only gripe is the movement screen when in a dungeon etc. When in the exploration phase can't the group move as one and then when in combat break off and do the searching for chests etc. I use my Ranger dog to search out hidden stuff as he the longest distance as standard for travel.
All you have to do know is get a bigger version out on the PS3 :atari:
50 Gigs to play with on Blu-ray should keep me busy for a few months/years. :bravo:
I completely agree about the movement phase. It's fair enough when in combat moving each character one at a time as it is turn based, but why not have one character i.e. the one the story is based around, move in exploration phase and can deploy the rest of the party when an encounter begins.
I'd love to see another version on PS2/PS3 or similar format. The options for expansion would be immense but would still love to see further add-ons for the PSP version.
One lives in eternal optimism. mdr2

I think the main issue with add ons is the size of the download. It's still got to fit on the memory card to be able to play it and this brings in the problem of maybe having to upgrade to fit it on. I only have 256 at the mo but when the prices come down I'll upgrade to a 2-4gb one. Minimum size of the download would have to be known before purchase.
I can't see an add on coming on UMD as this drives the price up. Maybe a sequel that you can transfer your characters over and carry on the campaign would be nice.
So far have 2 of the three keys so should finish the game tonight. :chapeau:

I see what you mean about a let down. really poor ending I thought as the final battle isn't really one. Over almost as soon as it began. The Golems weren't that hard either.
Hope to get some add ons soon.
Just finished the game again playing as an evil party. :diable: Not much difference really although a few variations of the quests did appear. I do have one question for anyone out there who might know...what purpose do the dragon statuettes have.
When I encountered the vampire lord early on the dragon statue has four pressure plates around it but once activated it made the dragon statue glow and that was about it. What'd I miss? :mefiant:
Also when you attack the monestry inhabited by the yuan-ti there is a dragon statue on an island which can only be accessed by using a device which activates two bridges. Does the statue serve any purpose?
I know the theme of the game revolves around dragons but since there are events based around these statues I wondered if they had another purpose. :hin:
