well I was playing on it the other day and it suddenly showed the 3 red lights so I turned it off then back on again and it worked anyway no more problems that night.
Next day get home and start it up 3 red lights again i keep turning it on and off and it finally works no more problems.
Next day Im playing on rainbow six vegas and in the middle of a match it will show the 3 red lights and after about 10 tries it works...............but for how long.

It means your xbox has packed in to put it simply, but be greatful though really.

1. M$ have extended the warranty to 3 years if you have 3 red lights of death (3RLoD) so you wont pay a penny to fix it

2. The xbox you get back from repair will probably be more reliable, less prone to freezing, and will be alot quieter

3. If you are lucky you will get a returned console with the new 65nm chips, which apparently are much better than the older 90nm ones.

But yeah, to Explain, 3RLoD is your xbox's way of telling you it has a hardware fault that cannot be repaired by yourself. To solve the issue you must contact Xbox Support, and have your Xbox sent over to the repair centre (free of charge) When you get it back you will be given a 1 month XBL subscription card to make up for any time lost, and a friend of mine also got an Xbox 360 game aswell, for the inconvenience

well touch wood it has been working fine the last few days no freezing what so ever but if it does pack in it is nice to know it is free because it has been for repair twice now (hopefully wont need a third).

Oh and what game did your mate get im just curious.
