View Full Version : Graphic Problems
Patched to 1.11a.
After about 10 minutes of play the graphics goes T.F.U.
System:
AMD Athlon XP 64 3800+
2 Gb RAM
GeForce 8500 GT
Any suggestions?
Does it always happen after about 10 minutes? If so it sounds very much like your graphics card is overheating. Try monitoring the temperature using nTune.
Temperature rises to 84° (celsius), not too much.
I'v noticed that the problem occurs during dialogues.
The game freezes for some seconds and then the graphic goes F.U.
Any help is appreciated
Are your drivers up to date?....... :mefiant:

Not too much is relative.. 84 could be considered too high by a lot of people -certainly I'd try and get it down to 70 at most.
Cutscenes are more graphically intensive than the normal view, as they add in a bunch of extra shaders - do you have depth of field turned on? I'd suggest turning it off if you do, and turning lighting quality down to low, to try and reduce the load a bit.

WAY too high...I panic if mine hits 84 deg FAHRENHEIT!!!
As Kalniel said, get it under 70, or you could see it die on you before too long!
For reference, my 8800GTS (320) is o/c'd by about 5% on core speed and RAM...and rarely goes above 60 deg Centigrade
(Is it overclocked btw? If so..have a look at alternative methods of cooling..)
I don't know.
Since in "Normal" use (sitting plain on the desktop) it goes to 69° I think that 84° in intesive use is not too much.
The Video Card is an Asus EN 8500GT Silent (no fan).
By the way....no overclocking.
Anyway I'm not so sure it is a GPU problem since this is the first game at all that has given me this kind of problems.
More over, I've tried going on playing after the problem showed up and, misteriously, the graphics went back to normality.
Of course the next time I've started the game the problemshowed up again and keeping on playing did not solved it.....
My guess is that it is a code problem.
[sarcasm mode on]
OH! What a strange thing!!! It never happens with atari's products!
[sarcasm mode off]
Ok yeah, passive cards can get to those temps sometimes.
The sarcasm isn't appreciated.
