The "much loved" TDU:C Gumball 3000 Challenge is back!

Although there was alot of interest in the last Gumball events, I believe it can still be bigger. However those who took part last time, all enjoyed the racing and cruising!

The Gumballs: First (http://forum.tdu-central.com/showthread.php?t=1053) ; Second (http://forum.tdu-central.com/showthread.php?t=2305) ; Christmas (http://forum.tdu-central.com/showthread.php?t=2508)

Please sign up here for the TDU:C Easter Gumball 3000 - http://forum.tdu-central.com/showthread.php?t=2874

I'm not trying to get people to sign up to TDU:C to boost the member list, I'm doing it because it's alot simpler for me if all the applicants are in the same thread etc. As it takes more effort than I initially thought to organise a decent Gumabll including people from all over the world!

This time, the Stages are not a specific route (as the last times), this time they require you to think about which way would be quickest, as there are generally 2 different ways of similar length.

Oh I forgot to say - There is a poll, and you get to decided on whether there should be points included in the Gumball ....

Sorry for triple posting, but I've now asked for dates of availability, so the sooner you sign up, the more chance you have of getting more of a Gumball experience :D

How does this work? It's gonna be really hard to see eachother since some will obviously be faster than others, and with the different routes it's gonna be even more dificult to keep track of eachother. So i'd expect you to loose track of eachother rather quickly. How do you know who got there first?

And why spread it out over 2 days? It's not that long...can probably do it in less than 1,5 hour :)

Sounds like a lot of fun btw :)

Sounds like a lot of fun btw :)Well, before I have set a restriction on the cruise. i.e. for the first gumball I organised, there was only B class allowed. Then for the Christmas one it was C restriction for days 1+2, while day 3 was un-restricted.

This time, I'm waiting for the results on the Vote in the Gumball thread, as to whether people want it to be more racy or more of a cruise. the I will make a decision on what cars I restirct or don't restrict.

I would think that I will be including a race style with points in half of the satge however.

The reason it's done over 2 / 3 days is, I gradually add and tweak the map, and also we only really do it for 1 hour at a time. So people can go off and do their own thing, such as Mafia etc.

Any more questions - feel free to ask :)

Doesn't really answer my question on how you're going to keep track of eachother. Even with cars in the same class there can be a big difference, especially if there's a mix of hardcore and normal mode. So how do you keep track of everybody?

Do you mean to determine who wins and comes second?

If you do mean that, then when someone finishes, then they have previsouly (if I already havn't been very close to them or won myself) they will type - for instance - 'I WOOONNNNN w00t' And I remeber the ordering of which people came, and then write it down on paper when I get to the finish.

I take it this isn't going to be the traditional 3000 miles, so how long will it be?

Yeah but that's my point, that's not gonna work when the group doesn't stay together and people drop out of the session. When there was a points sytem, if they happened to drop out of the session, then they unfortunately forfit any points they would have gained from that session. I have had to so this to myself, for this very reason. When they rejoin the session, they can cruise rnomally, but gain no points from the remainder of that stage, then they carry on as normal when the next stage starts.

Plus it's worked up until now, even when people get lost, we had someone get about 6 miles lost and we still manged to communicate etc :) We just waited for them at the end.

yeah...too bad being too fast or too slow, or having connection problems for a fraction of a second can you rule you out entirely...but i guess it'st he best we can do at the moment...

yeah...too bad being too fast or too slow, or having connection problems for a fraction of a second can you rule you out entirely...but i guess it'st he best we can do at the moment...Yeah I know. I don't think points will be included in all the stages of the Gumball this time. Making it more relaxed. Also we're (I'm currently aware) of 3 people who will be filming. So we normally pull over to do some short "driving clips" of people pulling out etc.

Only about 3 more spaces left * I think .... :)

*more spaces can be entered if pleaded - but it means more work for me .... rolleyesa

5 spaces left until the 25 maximum participant mark.

I have added the final rules and information regarding the Gumball. Days 1 and 2 are different styles.
