Fancy seeing Alone in the Dark in action before it hits the shelves?

We're organising a special Alone in the Dark presentation in our London offices, which will take place towards the end of February. It will be a unique opportunity for gamers to view actual gameplay and various in game levels - but we won't spoil your fun by showing too much ;)

Given the game rating, the event is open to anyone 18 yo or older.

Interested? Wave your hand here, then, please :salut2:

That would be most cool! I played the very first Alone in the Dark title (I still have the soiled pants to prove it, which I could bring along if you like ;))

Seriously though. If there's room I'd be most interested in it. Loved the new video released on Gametrailers today.

oh, and..... :salut2:

Why does it feel like I'm plauged by my age... sour: Still 17... Should I post this up on my site ? i'm sure a few of the people on there would be intrested.

tenebra
25-01-2008, 00:39
I'm sorry, Nwata. I actually checked your dob to see if you could make it :(

The more, the merrier :) There will be 20 people max for the presentation, but if there are more takers we'll be more than happy to have more than one session, so if you have friends you want to bring along you're more than welcome to invite them :)

ValoValo

tenebra
29-01-2008, 23:03
Great, Pistonbroke :)

Yes, ValoValo, you are all invited and your friend is welcome to come as well, as long as he/she is over 18 :)

Since we'll need your names at the reception so that you are allowed in, could you guys please email us at uk.support@atari.com with your name, surname and age? Please mark the email FAO Tenebra - AITD presentation :)

We'll email you back with address and map for the office.
Looking forward to meeting you then :)

There are still places available if anybody is interested :)

Thats brilliant, email sent ;)

Out of interest, on the day, will we be in a position to ask questions regarding the game ? if so, will the answers be subject to any NDA's ?

tenebra
30-01-2008, 10:32
Absolutely, feel free to ask as many questions as you like. As long as they aren't spoilers or too confidential, they'll be answered. It'll be a relaxed and friendly presentation, and no NDA :)

ValoValo
30-01-2008, 20:22
No NDA ... that means i can bring my cam ? :)

tenebra
31-01-2008, 00:09
No cameras, please tonguegre

Edit: You can bring your cameras, no pictures to ingame play though. I'll be more than happy to take pictures of you with our head of PR in front of Alone in the Dark artwork ;)

Can I come as well please as I live near the Hammersmith offices and used to go past them for the last 2 years on the way to college? :)

I really wanted to see the game in action and it could help me decide which version to get if the Wii and 360 version are there. ^__^

charmed699
01-02-2008, 22:36
Well for me it is actualy really lucky as it is the day that I am off from University. :)
I guess it can only be done through the week as well because no one would work on a weekend too.

Jackpot, Thursday was recommended by a valuable member of the community, hence the choice. That date is confirmed now but us Atari peeps are notorious for working weekends (in fact, I got back home at 8.45pm tonight after an Asterix first to play event in a London cinema :)). If we get lots of requests for a weekend date, I'll be more than happy to organise another AITD on the following Sat or Sun :) So that's your challenge, get another 10-20 people for the event and I'll get it organised ;)

Hi I was wondering if there are spaces still available. Me and my friend are doing a game design course and would be so interested in meeting with you. I'm 21 and he's 20 and we're from Swansea Wales but can travel to london for that event.

I also vote for a saturday/ sunday slot because of work at university. Is it ok to take notes and will we be able to talk with game designers since this will be so beneficial to our studies. Also this is the one game really really looking forward to ! :atari: we love you

Dave and Mark!

Hi Dave (and Mark), the only confirmed date so far is Thursday 21st Feb and there are still places available. If we get a reasonable number of people for Sat/Sun (15-20) we'll definitely go ahead with an extra date.

The game designers are busy working on the game at the moment and won't be present, although we're working on things I can't reveal at the moment...

Nwata, I'm provisionally reserving a place for your guy. You know I'm truly sorry I can't invite you, the law is the law, I'm afraid...:(

tenebra
04-02-2008, 10:44
Place reserved, email sent :)

We have 5 more places available, don't leave it to the last minute!

I'm pleased to confirm that Nour Polloni, the game Producer at Eden, will join us over the phone during the event. More opportunities for you to ask even more questions! ;)

No problem Ten :) . My guy has sent his details to the Atari inbox, so it's all good. He's going to fill me in once he's back. I'll get him to post some info on the site aswell... But without revealing anything he's not supposed to, or that he feels will spoil the story for the fans (especially me tonguegre ) Should be great fun :)

22-02-2008, 20:40
Thank you so much for yesterday. Thats the first kind of thing like that I've ever been too. To put a face to the name, I was the obvious PS3 fanboy sitting towards the back wearing the biker jacket.

The game itself is a sure fire hit. It looks set to suitably re-invent the survival horror genre.

I was very impressed by the implementation of the driving element. Usually when games that are not predominantly driving games, and they put a small driving section is as a filler, its one of the games worst bits, (tomb raider, gears of war, drakes fortune, etc etc.). Leaving the freedom to get in and out of cars at the players will makes the game much more open ended and less clinical. Like others mentioned on the day, the musical score is outstanding, and the way its interlaced with the gameplay was simply stunning, I can't wait to try it out on my new 7.1 home cinema :D

Please please please don't let us down with the ps3 version though, the ps3 user base has been scarred in the past by bad ports from the 360, (even after devs have stated the versions are identical). One example, A bloke by the name of Patrice Desilet who was responsible for Assassins Creed stated to the public that the ps3 version of the game was identical to the 360's, However, this was not the case, the ps3 version suffered with slowdown, screen tearing and constant freezing issues, ( they remedied the last problem with a patch, but it was too late by then as most had already finished the game and promptly traded it in).

I so badly want this game, but don't want to buy another 360 for it. There is the PC version, but its not the same as playing it on a big screen with the lights off. ;)

To be honest I did not know what to expect but your friendly in the forums anyway so did not make much difference. It was great though to see that you dont have to wear boring suits and it felt like we were all just at a friend's house playing the game. :)

It was quite funny to walk in and see how quiet everyone was but at least I felt we all got much more chatty later on.

Hi all,
first timer on this forum. You all seem very pleasant, which is a surprise as most forums include a few 'haters'.

first things first. I love the AITD games, first got in to it on ps1 and got the ps2 version also :)
so far all of the things ive seen for this new iteration have been amazing, graphics look incredible and the interactivity with objects is something i have wished for for years.
If you do have a weekend 'demo' I would love to be included.
Taking your time out to meet the fans of your work (and show it off of course!) is a hugely appreciated gesture, if only more developers did this....

so this is my first post I hope you all accept me for who I am, a hardcore gamer who enjoys the suspense and horror this game is going to bring mdr1

Thats cool, as sooon as a date as been decided please post it as soon as possible as I'll have to try and get it off work :P

Maybe perhaps if you could make it a sunday I would be very very happy ^__^

Not of course that I want it to be set around a time specially for me.

Just giving a few ideas :)
