People keep saying EA own the rights to Porsche. Yes, they do have the right to use Porsches in their games but they do not have exclusive rights! I'm sure alot of you people have played a game called Forza Motorsport 2... nuff said

daft idea - the F1 name stuck because they joked about the car being 39 steps better than an F40.
so calling anything an F2 would be a step backwards.

There's no RUF Carrera GT but Gemballa have made the 'Mirage'. Not sure how hard it would be to get the rights to Gemballa but that is one option in order to get a GT on TDU2.

Im pretty sure the F1 name is due to the fact its a road going salute to the *F1 cars as it has a central seating possition and its made by mclaren lol

*F1 = Formula 1 single seater racing cars, the highest class in GP cars

I beleive he paid them to desighn and build that car out of his own pocket and he also owns the desighn rights just to make sure he is the only person to have them. The one in calafornia is rented to them but is still owned by the sultan.

I'll agree with Fizz on the Fina-sponsored McLaren F1 GTR, but not the 1997 version. I'd go with its 1996 predacessor.

Nissan separated the Skyline & the GT-R name because Nissan decided the Skyline name would be more appropriate to the luxury sedans they start as.

The Skyline isn't a high-end sports car by any means and never really was. Skylines were typically luxury sedans or luxury sport 2-doors. GT-Rs were just the performance versions. When the new Skylines were introduced here under the Infiniti G35, that's when the GT-R died for a short time while the Skyline name lived on. When the new GT-R was introduced, Nissan saw it wasn't built on a Skyline like the previous generation (because it's not built upon the current Skyline/Infiniti G models). Due to this, Nissan separated the name, and made GT-R the name to continue on the GT-R badge representing a sports car.

Basically, in short terms, Skylines are now luxury cars as they normally were, as mentioned above. Because the R35 GT-R is not built upon it, it causes a separation of GT-R & Skyline. But because the GT-R badge represented high performance, it was a proper name to badge the new sports car.

Well, you can't say it beat the GT-R because the GT-R's competition range in my opinion is a Z06, 911 Turbo, 360 CS/Modena, Gallardo, and F430. :)

This is exactly why the 'Ring is useless these days for comparisons, and you just proved my point. You think that because the ZR1 beat the GT-R on the 'Ring, that it will beat it anywhere else, aka end all, be all as I said.

The 'Ring does not define who beats who. If so, a GT-R would have slapped all its competitors in the face. However, even the mighty Z06 it murdered on the 'Ring now on average comes 1-2 seconds behind the GT-R. The 997 GT2 was also beat by the GT-R, yet it's typically a few seconds faster.

The 'Ring is just a great test track allowing manufacturers to test different situations. That's it. When it comes to comparing, it's useless because it gives people a false sense of what a car is capable of.

You can set the fastest time on a 'Ring. Doesn't mean you can dominate your competition everywhere else. I'm expecting the ZR1 to follow the same path as the GT-R.

But the GTR has an unfair advantage being All-Wheel-Drive. AWD vahicles, as I am sure you all know, 95% of the time accelerate and handle better. the GTR loses to the ZR1 only because it has 158 less horsepower. if the GTR V-spec comes any where close to the ZR1's 638hp, it will leave the ZR1 behind.
Proper competitors for the ZR1 IMO would be along the lines of the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiarano, Ferrari F430 Scuderia, Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series, etc. It will run a Lamborghini Mercielago LP640 and/or LP560 into the ground but again, they are all wheel drive, so not a very good comparison.

And the 'Ring is not useless. If a car beats another around the 'Ring, it means the generally it will beat it every where else (with the exception of tracks with many long straight stretches considering that the 'Ring is mostly turns) no track in the world can compare to the 'Ring, there is simply nothing like it, or as difficult as it. Well the ZR-1 is a racer for the road whereas most of those cars you mentioned aren't close to racespec, ZR-1 vs Ultima GTR sure, GT3RS, F430 Scuderia yeah that's fine but those other cars won't break your back on a cross country drive whereas the ZR-1 will.

ZR-1 is like a status symbol, you'll drive it a bit and show off but you'll be glad to get into something else for the long journeys.

Actually scrap that, I just saw the interior and even though it looks rank (especially for the price) the comfort looks bareable. Damn that cockpit is not very inviting at all imo.

I have my doubts. After the GT-R's little record, it showed it wasn't that much of a Corvette Killer.

Really? If so, why did the GT-R & 997 GT2 have their tales handed to them by a LP560-4? Why has the Corvette Z06 run up on the rear bumper of the GT-R?

This is exactly what I'm talking about. You are one of those people who have bought into the idea that a car's performance on the 'Ring is a good representation of where it'll perform elsewhere. It simply isn't. A Zonda F & a Carrera GT will run away on 95% of the tracks the GT-R has run on despite the GT-R coming with mere milliseconds of both cars on the 'Ring.

The 'Ring is useless for comparing cars. There are too many variables within the track that can upset the equality of the cars being tested.

I never said the track itself is useless. As you stated, it's great for testing cars and where they perform best.

But when it comes to comparing 2 cars, it's a very poor source to use. As I said, you can set a fast time on the 'Ring and show everyone where your car has its strengths, but just because you set a fast time on a track with all kinds of corners & straights doesn't mean you can beat your opponent elsewhere.

As I told red, it isn't the end all, be all. Due to all the variables and major sections of the track, it's quite easy to beat your opponent in the turns and still be fast enough to escape their speed on the straights. What I'm saying is that nowadays, it's not really a "fair" way to compare cars. With the track being as long as it is, there are so many points where the cars simply won't be getting a fair attempt. It's tricky to explain, but many believe a fairer way of comparing cars there would be to compare their times through different sectors rather than the course itself.

Either way, it just simply isn't the best source of comparing times. A GT-R dominated it, and many believe now that the GT-R can dominate elsewhere. It just can't. It's the variables & the length that upsets GT-R & its competitors (Z06, GT3, GT2) from having a fair shot at the track.

Dont forget the styles of the test drivers may also differ which will affect the overall time. Really to compare 2 or more cars you would need to use the same driver.

The manufacturers use this track because it offers pretty much every type of corner and helps them to develop and fine tune the handling the overall time a car completes a lap isnt really what they are there for. However if for instance a lotus beats the gt-r time then that would be used as a sales gimmick regardless of weather it was fair or not and if it doesnt nothing will be said at all.

Im going to talk about 3 cars.

The first is the Koenigsegg ccgt which i think should be on TDU 2 either as downloadable content or as a car that only comes available whne you progress to high rank in the game, for instance ACE. Maybe though in all honesty it will not feature as it is a one off from the Dutch supercar makers to be used in Touring events only.

The next one is the Koenigsegg ccxr. Now koenigsegg claim this car goes above the 250 mph mark but there are no official figures out yet but i believe it will be above 250 mph and close to the Bugatti Veyron or over the Veyrons speed? The Koenigsegg ccxr does hold the current record for 0-186 mph-0.

The 3rd car is the SSC Ultimate Aero which now holds the world record for the fastest supercar with a recorded top speed of 256.18 mph.

I know this is my list of cars i would like to see but i would be happy to have you guys reply to this and put in your cars and ideas which you would like to see on TDU 2.

i have been in one of those, and omfg those seats are lovely!(im not fat)
You can't just LOOK on the seats and say, OWww they are bad for GT...
I think that the ZR1 is soooo much better then the GT-R, The ZR1 got RWD, Power and OMFG the looks!
The GT-R is a great car too, but the AWD blows it...
You want AWD if you got a SUV or an RS4, the GT-R just don't fit it...(and all the other GT-R's
