Hello all
After trying about ten different fixes from the unofficial forum, I still can't get this bloody game to launch. I've been waiting for atari to contact me for over 2 weeks and have sent them 3 emails.
Still keep getting the 'witcher has stopped working' message everytime I try to launch it. Can someone please help me as I've heard this game is really good but haven't even see as much as a intro movie thus far.

Which email address are you using for technical support?
Also what are your specs/drivers? (easiest to attach a dxdiag report to a post here).

Hello kalniel
I've been using the atari website support section and have received auto-confirmations. I have attached dxdiag.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide

Ah, vista sometimes makes things.. interesting.
First off, try installing an explicit version of dx9 (as opposed to the dx10 you have already):

There's also a problem with virtual memory addressing that can occur if your graphics card has a lot of ram (which yours does) - try this MS hotfix:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940105
Of course, you may have tried those already..

Hello kalniel
Had already used the ram hotfix to get hellgate to work. Tried the dx9 solution last night but alas I'm still in the same situation. If you could use any influence you have to actually get atari to acknowledge my existence I'd be more than happy.
Thanx for your suggestions.

I'm afraid I don't really have much influence in that area. The best way of logging the issue is the website form which I'm surprised hasn't got you a proper response - can you PM me the exact details you filled in and I'll try and see if your query is held up anywhere, but I can't guarentee it'll get looked at any quicker.

Hello all
just sent email number four, still managing to be polite. I reckon emails 5-8 will become increasing sarcastic, number 9 will show signs of frustration. Email number 10 will definitely be rude.
nobody loves me sour: sour:

Repeating the same thing isn't any more likely to get you a response. I've PM'd to ask for more information about your support request.

Hello all
Atari contacted me today and said they were totally baffled but that they are on the case. So I'm crossing my fingers and hopefully I might get to play soon. Thanks for your help Kalniel.
No problem - I expect Tenebra is a better person to thank though :)
edit: Do you want us to continue suggesting things here as well?
