Hi everyone.
Anybody interested in a cruise tonight let's meet up at the crater house on the hill. Bring your Audi S4 and join for a cruise around the island. We will drive out and head right till we reach the road on the fringe of the island. Then we will take it to the light house where we will have a pit stop and discuss any further route.
Feel free suggest any other route, but not after we move out. If you feel that you know a great route and would like to lead - go ahead you're more than welcome - just let us know before we start.

Time: 20.30 GMT (London) Date 24.02.08
My ingame nick: nnndru.
xfire: nnndru
I will wait for about 15 minutes.

See you there.

I would have loved to join this cruise (as I need another 1000 miles to get some more points), but you need to give more notice so people can find out about the cruise, generally at least 48 hours, but the more, the better.

That was a quickie indeed :)
I think we will be doing it again next sunday at the same time.
2nd march
See ya all there.
RS4 is a must.

I'll try and get there, RS4 is my fave motor.

You do mean RS4, not S4?

ndrew

Yup, RS4 it is :) Its my favourite too.
I only wish it was faster so you could keep up with A class.

Now a few propositions:
When we ride, we don't shift over 5th gear - in that case we can pull up to somebody in front of us, and we don't get stretched too much.

Apart from that I wish we could have a cruise like the one I had with my mate the other day, where we just had a lot of fun and done almost acrobatic manouvers in full speed.

Just to remind you it's not a race, it's a crusie, so let's try to ride as a group.

See you on Sunday.

OK, just to remind you:
Sunday 2.03 UK Time 20.30, hill house in the crater, Ausi RS4, cruise around the island.
See you there.

Yeep, should be good.
Crater is quite a popular spot though, hope we can all 'see' each other!

My apologies to all who wanted to cruise with us tonight - unfortunatelly our connection broke at some point, and after countless efforts to reconnect we were forced to abandon out cruise.
I wish TDU had some better way of managin which instance you are in...

At about 9:30 (can't remember exact time), my internet died (because of loose phone wires outside the house, when they get wet and it's very windy, connection goes crackly. Luckily doesn't happen very often).

There was 3 of us cruising for quite a while, got a pic here (didn't realise it had FRAPS fps on it until after the cruise):

Yeah, connection was impossible tonight, just 2 of us left at 10:00 but we broke off to watch lost. lol

How I envy you guys :)
I am glad that you continued.
If you liked it, maybe we can try something like this next week too.
Maybe different saloon?

I like to join a cruise sometimes.

You guys driving with tuned cars?

ndrew
04-03-2008, 16:18
Sure we do. Untuned Audi is too slow.

Yeah, like ndrew said, tuned is the way to go.

Also we should say if we're starting in Hardcore or normal, my skills in H mode aren't quite good enough to keep up with standard drivers. rolleyesa

All in normal next time?

And meet somewhere really quiet, like the golf course at the far north of the island, that's always quiet and we can do the mountain pass from there.

Unless anyone's got a better meeting place?

See you all next Sunday, hopefully :salut2:

Bottom left lighthouse is always very quite! As it's out of the way.

Yeah that's usually a good place to meet but Sunday was SO busy we couldn't even link up there. We waited about 10 mins for ndrew there with no joy.

Yeah, I think the ne mods out are bringing back people to TDU. But that is all I will say. Mods are a delicate area of this side of the Atari forums :p

Completely random, but a little bit relevant (not much though) to the topic. Today on my trip to Swansea Uni open day (heh, better than work), I saw 2 RS4's, 3 Caterhams, a Lotus Elise, a lot of middle-lane hoggers, and a car crushed into a cube (well, more of a cuboid). No idea what the car was, just could see "GTI" on one of the sides, and it was racing green (didn't have my phone either, so no pics).

Apparently the DVLA dumped it there to say what could happen if you don't pay your car tax, not what could happen if you leave your car parked in front of the main building (so our tour guide told us anyway).

With the mods, word is that they're starting to be allowed on certain forums, but we're waiting for official confirmation here before we're allowed to talk about them.
