Hi all

the release date is now set for 20th June in Europe and 24th June in the US. The slight delay is to allow Eden Games to polish the game to an even higher standard and deliver the best possible gaming experience :)

Nope, that's not necessarily the case :) It's polishing, not actual development. Still no date for the PS3 though, I'm afraid.

Oh well if it's all about polishing and stuff!!!
Be so kind though not to extend the demo release date. Let us see what we'll get!!!
By the way I am very glad to see that Eden and Atari aren't rushing to things and try their best to achieve what it seems to be the Game Of The Year!!!
Thats shows some kind of respect to the costumers that will buy the game and by that I mean that there were games that came out only to catch up with Christmas and other holidays without being fully finished.
An example I believe it was The Witcher as from the first day of its release a patch was already available and of course can't forget about the butchered limited edition.Atari seemed obviously in a rush to publish the game and it was a shame really because more people would have bought the limited edition were it to be as first announced(yes I mean the medallion rolleyesa rolleyesa .
By the way a final question. Is there any thought of releasing the previous 4 or at least the first 3 games????I would loveto play the first Alone in the dark and to hear for the first times the sound effects as I had Adlib on my old-old pc and only music was available.

Oh my what I remembered. In those days back then, yes, somewhere between 92 and 93 I think, catching a virus was a common phenomenon.
Well there was a day when my pc was infected and my brother and I hadn't noticed it.
The thing is that at that time we were playing the first Alone in the Dark.So we sat and started the game but we couldn't play the game because it showed us a warning saying that we were infected(or something familiar-real big red warning with its edges flashing).Oh yes, Alone in the Dark found the virus. My brother had already known that "if Alone in the Dark wont start you are infected".
The fact is that we scanned the pc and indeed we were infected with malicious viruses.
Do you people of Atari know anything about this or was it just a rumour or maybe a coincidence?
I must say it was magical though!!!

You do know that Atari delayed The Witcher several times as well right? It wasn't rushed :p

Nice story about the virus though!

In a report of a dutch game show, they said the controls of the console version was annoying (they had a hands on preview, or so they said), is that true and yes, is that the reason for the delay?

The Witcher did have lots of bugs in the beginning, not to mention the horrible long loading times if you entered a simple house, in fact it was so annoying I waited with playing the game until the patch fixed it. Its a very good game now with an incredible atmosphere.
