as if there isn't enough actual "news" happening in the world at the moment, they feel the need to fill 10.15 to 10.20 talking about naomi cambell getting arrested!
since when did tabloid human interest stories become part of the BBC News' air time?! if you've got 5 minutes to fill, talk a bit more about zimbabwe or tibet or closer to home what the changes in our economy actually represent.

a mini history lesson to current affairs would be a pretty useful thing now that i come to think of it!
the number of people you talk to that have been told mugabe in charge is a bad thing, but don't actually know why. people that seem to demand a great NHS, crimeless streets, firefighters that never strike and all with lower taxes. hell, half my mates belong to that group of people!

The london news was just as poor, with a headline 'story' stating that only 33% of 2000 londoners asked feel they will benefit from the olympics, then following it up with probing questions such as 'is the whole a olympic program just a bottomless pit filled with tax payers money?', 'will we ever recover?'.
those statistics tell us nothing about the olympics and how it will effect local and national economy, but as is the case for any such public opinion, it simply tells us what the average (another word for uninformed) person thinks. It's an impossible position to reach, but news broadcasters should aspire to complete objectivity through fact and intelligent deductions. it's fact that 1340 people asked don't think they'll benefit from the olympics, but that isn't to say when it comes to it they won't! if anything the deductions the BBC should have made should have been focused on whether the olympic committee's PR was upto scratch!
dwelling on this story quite a bit, but every night there seems to be something like this and i'm sure there are more important things happening to hear about!

i guess of all the news broadcasters, i expected the BBC to be the most well balanced!

seems too many daily mail reporters have been snapped up by the good old BBC and paided to produce rubbish under their name instead!
