Game lags, but only after a few minutes

I wanted to play TDU today for the first time in months.
Everything is fine at the beginning, but after about 5 minutes of driving around, the game starts to lag terribly. I didn't have this problem a few months ago and I still have to same computer and hardware.
I updated my graphic card drivers but it didn't change anything.

Does anyone know how I could solve this?

My specs aren't too bad I think.

3.2 GHz
2 GB of RAM
GeForce 7800 GT

And I'm talking about OFFLINE mode.

Clean out your PC? Could be dust in fans which causes overheating.

If you have a cable modem, or a router that you can see the Tx/Rx lights on.. check to see if it is lagging when those lights are very active.

If so, then it is net lag as the game tries to see who is about, and it should settle down after a min or two..

I used to have massive lag when I stated the game, but this stopped after the megapack for some reason.. however, so did the net comms.. now I get the net lag after about 10 mins in game, lasts for about 3-4 mins, then repeats every 30-40 mins or so.

Download HWMonitor from here: www.cpuid.com and start it before you start playing, just let it run untill your done playing or the problems get to worse to play and see what the maximum recorded tempratures are, also look at the voltages, maybe there giving a problem also wen the PSU gets warm.

Well I have a display on my computer case that shows the temperature inside.

I get about 70°C when playing games, no idea if this is too hot. I will indeed try to clean my computer though, because when I got it 2 years ago the highest I got was like 45-50°C so maybe this is really the problem. Thanks for the help.

I cleaned out my fans today and there was indeed a lot of dust inside my computer. And now when I play TDU even after half an hour of playing the game runs very smoothly and insted of having 70°C inside my PC I now have 42°C while playing. I'm so happy, now I can play TDU again mdr1
