Black screens randomly

Well, as you might have read some of us have the game already and it seems we can activate it.

Now i am playing the game and let me say frist it's FFING! awesome!
VERY good job, the gameplay, the music, the story it just fits!

But, randomly i'm getting black screens en my monitor get's out of signal.
If i press alt+f4 i come back to the desktop and restart te game and it works again.

Then after 30/1h/2h black screen, en poff hard kill needed.

Using an intel q6600 // assus geforce 9800GTX non clocked // 4 gyg ram
Latest official Nvidia drivers installed + latest Nforce drivers for my mainboard.

Any help, or advice or official word regarding drivers would be appriciated.

Great that you're enjoying the game and thanks for the heads up about black screens. Can you attach a dxdiag report to a post? (let me know if you need help with that).

i would suggest getting rivatuner and manually turning the fan up to 100% and play the game with the fan on full blast and see if the same problem exists.. more than likely that is a indication of overheating of the gpu! if you are using directx 10 it seems to run the cards alot harder and hotter!
if you dont see the problem when the fan is on full blast, then heat is your problem and i would install a better fan or get a custom case meant for mega riggs like yours. i myself run the fan at 100% all the time when i play games because i dont want to run anyrisk of heat damage. and if the fan will die in 2 years verses 4 years i dont care cause your gpu will be **** in two years anyway.

Well m8, i have an zalman cooler on my CPU and my GPU has an built in cooling software and never exceeds 55 degrees celcius.
I appreaciate your help, but my airflow is pretty damn nice and my CPU never exceeds 50 degrees celcius.

I have it very random sometimes i can play for 30 mina nd black screen, sometimes it happens after 1/2 hours.
And it never happens @ the same spot.
I do know that the creative drivers are not digitaly signed, but the black screens only appear in AITD.

Quick update :

When my screen goes out of sync, and i alt tab to the desktop it comes back.
Then when i alt-tab back to the game it's working again.

So for people experiencing the same problem, alt+tab seems to temp fix it.

Could be your graphics card. A lot of people overlook the Power supply unit. Make sure you have enough power to run it.

K, it's not my PSU also :P
My systeem has a 750 watt modular PSU, and on full load my systeem uses 400/425 max.
My PSu like i said an modulair with means it's effectifly gives around 650/700.

This black screen also only happens in AITD, and in none of my other games like Crysis, WoW, UT3, CoD4 etc.

It's probaly an driver related thing from the Nvidia drivers, or a small Refreshrate bug in the game code.
I do have Vsync enabled.

i have the same problem pleas help i have a ATI sapphire readon 3850 HD but it just randomly crashes and goes into black screen and gives me a error something about a VPU recover i can go in game again but then it crashes 4 mins after again and i cant open it :/ . i also tryet riva tuner but its only on 64C but it still does it i tryet everything and all my drivers are up to date . :cry:
i have a 680W PSU and it nearly all ways do it at the hive and sometimes it just does it random places.
i have a fine cooling on the GPU.

I just experienced a black screen crash as well, after only about 15 minutes of play!

I don't think this game likes Vista 64. I have all the latest drivers/bios etc... I think this game is a bit buggy and poor console port for the pc. The UI is clunky and unintelligable.
