PC Version:

The Cinema after the taxi drive in the city (2.5) will always crash the game. it happens when the girl speaks for the second time.

This cinema is then continued in Episode 3.1. The game will crash after the girls says "you're cut to the bone..."

it happens at the exact same times and will always crash.

ATI hd3870
4gb RAM
AMD 2.8ghz dual core
Vista 32

Settings in-game: High, 1680x1050

It's possible to skip to episode 3.2 to continue the game but I rather wait for a patch. Don't want to miss parts of the storyline. :respect:

EDIT: I tried to contact technical Support but it appears to be currently unavailable on the EU website. I sent a technical support regarding the problem on the US ATARI website.
EDIT 2: See Solution in post below.

I can now confirm that this issue is related to the vegetation setting in display options. I'm trying to figure out what is the "safe" level. If vegetation is set to max the game will crash.

My guess is that this start to happen here because this is the first time you're in the park. I can also confirm that this do not only happen in the cinema, but will happen during gameplay.

But if vegetation is set to the minimum = no crash.
Vegetation can be set to 0-11. Just need to find the safe area.

Update on issue:
If you find yourself having these issues set vegetation to 0.

vegetation at 6 (count from left) seems to be safe in episode 3.1
But vegetation at 6 will cause the game to crash in episode 2.5 (after the taxi cab drive).

When I feel like it I will try vegetation 2,3,4 & 5 in the taxi cab drive stage to see what exactly is a safe setting to have vegetation at.

Hi m8,

I am past that part and my game didn't crash.
Also playing @ 1650x1050 with everything turn up to the max.

The only problem i have are black screens randomly, but somehow i feel it's Nvidia driver related same as a lot of nvidia users had with the game StrangleHold.

MAybe your card * the ATI* has issues with drivers regarding crashing like i have with drivers causing black screens?

I would recommend waiting for the drivers to pass testing (and I won't sticky this news for that reason), but these sound like they could be good. Thanks for the heads up and thanks to every one who submitted tickets to ATi to help them with this.
