lag, as in when you use first person camera?
cos in 3rd person moving the mouse is only used to move weapons and such

Hi there.

Ok, I had this problem and thought it was an SLI issue, I am running 2x9800gtx. I renamed the game exe to FEAR.exe and the game is now much smoother and zero mouse lag. Are any of you running sli. I have the same mouse as you guys and had the same problem in ties that bind. Hope this helps.

Hi, running 7950gx2 (single card SLI), not tried messing around with the profiles yet :)

For the sake of simply renaming one file the gsme runs so much better. No sli profilr for it yet but fear workd great. Give it a go. The game is running very well indeed and no crashes or any weird goingd on, although I cannot change the keyboard controls to what I usually use.

if you rename the game to fear.exe it does nothing for the game and it will more than likely not start.
why would the renaming the game.exe to fear.exe change anything . And you guys have to be lying about your system specs, cause i have a overclocked bfg 8800gt oc. 512 and i have no lagg what so ever.

Listen good! Change the alone.exe to FEAR.exe, its really really easy. This helps sli rig as this will load up the profile for fear which works very well with alone. Please someone second this!! Simple, if you want faster frames and smoother mouse in SLI do this. If you DO NOT have sli, dont bother, it will give no gain.

Get rid of this sort of abuse!! This fix won't work for you anyway as you do not have SLI!

Ok, listen. Changing the exe just load up the sli profile for fear. This means the compatability for the cards in sli will be better. It has Nothing whatsoever to do with the actual gameplay graphics! I have had an sli rig for 3 years and trust me, I have messed around and spoke to experts on the nvidia forums and I am not trying to screw people over, just help them play the game like I am. This game will run in sli, it just defaults to a single card as there is no nvidia profile. The exe fix is a very common for many titles that donr have an sli profile. It will(should)also fix the lag issue with the mouse, has anyone tried it yet?

Looks like someone needs to read the forum rules again.

Changing the exe to fear *will* work - modern graphics card drivers all load up special modes for different games depending on what game is being played. They do this based on the name of the exe, so calling the exe something else that already has a driver profile will set the graphics card up for it. It may not be optimal, as no two games use the same techniques, but if it helps you get around a problem it's well worth trying.

Hi, tried re-naming the .exe, slight improvement but still not ideal, guess ill have to lower the resolution / detail.

Have you tried turning off vsync? I was playing the new Turok yesterday and and was having lag with mouse, turned the vsync off and wow, what an improvement!

Hi, dont really like turing v-sync off, usually results in tearing, ewww. Got it working but had to turn res down, detail down to medium :(

Guess the 7950 gx2 has had it's day. Will hold off playing untill the 9800 gtx plus is out. gtx 280 is way too over priced :(

Did see a profile listed in the latest nvidia driver but it wasnt recognised when you ticked "list games on my comp" (cant remember exact dialogue").

Any way, thanks for your help (except the noob with all the language :chapeau: ) (edit: thanks mods for removing :) )

(edit2: nothing to do with the mouse after, just not had anything like this before, so had to blame something lol)
